Social development professional with 36 years of work experience in multi-lateral agencies -UNICEF, The World Bank, bilateral agency DANIDA, INGO WaterAid and private sector. More than 23 years’ experience in implementation of rural water and sanitation programs in India in four of the most challenging states- Bihar, Rajasthan. Orissa and Jharkhnad, as well as at the country level. The core of this work experience relates to designing, piloting and scaling up interventions in water and sanitation program, building capacity of nodal agencies in government and non-government sectors.Pioneered sanitation marketing approach in early 2000 in the Indian state of Bihar, and established a supply chain for home toilets which has sustained itself. Also initiated improved menstrual hygiene management as part of WASH program in UNICEF. Currently consultant to UNICEF in Nigeria.
