Job Description

The Practice Team is responsible for providing cutting-edge and integrated solutions to India’s urban development challenges by bringing together faculty and experts across diverse domains of knowledge and practice; exposing learners to real-life problems and integrating the practice into academics and research. This is a full time position, in the Practice Team at IIHS based out of Chennai, with travel to other locations in the State and India. The deliverables of the TNUSSP Project Manager at IIHS will be to successfully manage activities related to the project including, but not limited to planning support, implementation tracking and timely delivery, project monitoring and performance and financial reporting, managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders; and documentation and learning through the course of the project. Eligibility Criteria

The candidate is required to possess a professional degree in Environmental / Civil Engineering and/or Urban Planning. In addition, she/he is expected to possess 8-15 years of relevant experience. Prior experience in urban development and sector assessment / pre – feasibility studies / implementation of projects under environmental services is mandatory. The candidate should have a demonstrable track record of having worked in Urban Development projects. She or he should also have experience of working in multi-disciplinary teams, good people management skills, and significant competency in project management and IT skills. Candidates should also have prior experience of working with government. Preference will be given to candidates with Tamil language skills, and work experience in Tamil Nadu.

Desired Candidate Profile

Post Graduation - MBA/PGDM

Applicants should hold a Master’s degree in Management (business / project management) with at least five years of professional experience that include project management and/or consulting work. A Bachelor’s degree with 3 – 7 years of relevant work experience could also be considered in exceptional cases. Ideal applicants would have worked in and have interest in areas of Water, Sanitation and Urban development, in India and the international context. Experience with the research community will be considered an asset. The candidate must have Project management, Project Reporting experience, with excellent spoken and written communication skills.
