Job Description

She/He will be responsible for supporting patients through their treatment process in Hyderabad. It is important that the counselor has a proactive attitude and willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.The major responsibilities of a patient counselor will be as follows: a. Provide support to referral patients b. Documentation c. Maintain good communication with senior staff d. Provide direct clinical services e. Any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Eligibility Criteria

A graduate/post graduate degree in science or nursing graduate with strong inclination to work in hospitals / rural patients at specialist hospitals in Hyderabad. Candidates with 12th pass but right kind of attitude and experience can also apply.

Should be willing to take on additional tasks / responsibilities as the team or organization may occasionally require. The patient counselor will report on all responsibilities to the patient counselor supervisor and when necessary to the Dy. Director/Director.

IRHS manages an integrated strategy to provide rural villagers preventative and curative healthcare. IRHS runs two primary health care clinics in remote areas and a cervical cancer screening project based in a district hospital. For patients who need secondary and tertiary level care IRHS has developed a referral system to government and private hospitals in Hyderabad. This referral system is equipped with patient counsellors who first meet patients at our bus station centre and then guide patients through their hospital treatment/admission. As a grassroots organisation, IRHS helps villagers’ access appropriate health care from primary care through to specialised treatment and surgery in the capital city of Hyderabad.
