Job Description

The School Programme at Vidya & Child initiates a child into an educational process. Classes are organised from Nursery to Class V and the children are taught in groups of twenty five each and assigned to one teacher. This method of teaching ensures that each child is given maximum individual attention. The program at our school programme centres focuses on building a strong educational base for the child to be able to cope with the formal schooling system after Class V. On completion of Class V, children are mainstreamed into schools after which they join our After School Support Programme till they complete school education. The two programmes help provide the support and environment to enable the child to complete school education and prepare for higher professional or vocational courses. This includes the following activities •Enrollment and Attendance of children •Thinking about each Child in the Programme and ensuring that no one gets left behind academically or otherwise. •Child

•Should be a Graduate, with Minimum Experience of 10 - 15 Years.

•Should be a Graduate, with Minimum Experience of 10 - 15 Years. •Knowledge/ Experience in primary education especially working in development sector with low income communities Experience of managing projects and centres Experience of teaching children Experience of having worked in the community •Should have worked directly with younger children in underprivileged communities specifically girls. •Should have worked directly with adults (parents) in underprivileged communities •Should have worked inside the community or should have made regular visits inside the communities and communicated with them on different areas like health, sanitation, education etc. •Overall comfortable with type of locations where children come from. •Should have handled different type of issues related to children – (specifically girls) – through individual and/or group counseling sessions •Ability to counsel a child or a parent with understanding, patience, willingness to listen etc. •Knowledge of savings

• About Organization:Vidya & Child is an NGO working for the past 17 years in Noida to help & bridge the gap for those who need education and have no access to the facilities for learning existing in our society. We work across 4 centres in Noida and 1 in Siwan. Vidya & Child has a School Education program for Nursery to Class V catering to close to 1000 children and an After School Support Programme with an outreach of over 250 children from Class VI to Class X and a Foundation Programme with an outreach of over 100 children of class XI and beyond (in regular or open schooling or graduation). The programme involves academic and financial support to children for their school education. A very strong parent programme exists so that as a team the parent and Vidya & Child can support a child through school and help him/ her finish school education. Our Arts & Performing Arts and Life Skills programme cater to all children from Nursery to class XII.
