Job Description

Scope of the Position: The Program Manager is one of the key managerial position within the organization and is responsible for providing oversight to all the programs implemented by SAHAY.


Responsibilities:  

1.Effective management of program cycle:  Leading the program portfolio within areas of health, education, empowerment, youth employability and Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning, which includes but is not limited to program planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, guidance to ensure quality and timely program delivery relevant with the needs of the sponsored community. Develop policies, strategies and operational plans for programs. 


2.People leadership:  The PM manages a key team of program leaders from each of our program areas. The role includes but is not limited to regular team meetings, individual coaching and support, appraisals etc.) 


3.Program design and Implementation: Leads the program team in program design, annual work plan, budget execution, report review,  and program implementation 


4.Data Integrity: Leads the program team in building a strong data management process for all program data that is reliable, timely, and used for decision-making to continually make improvements to our programs 


5.Strategic Partnership: Leads and represents the program team in identifying and building strategic partnerships that help Sahay expand its reach and impact within the communities served and that fill in the gaps where Sahay does not implement programs. 


6.Field presence: Travel regularly to project sites to ensure implementation of programs and projects, monitoring programs, sponsorship and financial activities, meeting the community and providing inputs.

  

7.Involve actively in the various organizational and CI initiatives from time to time. 

 

8.Compliance with organizational policies, procedures and guidelines.  

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, Bengali and Hindi. 
  2. Leadership skills: Demonstrated team management skills 
  3. Team worker: Values team work with transparency in sharing knowledge, experiences and delegation. 
  4. Problem solver: Demonstrated ability of a problem solver with focus on data based decision making. 
  5. Flexibility: Ability to adapt to new ideas and changes in a positive manner 

Desired Candidate Profile

Post Graduation - MSW

  1. Post-Graduate Degree in Management/ Development Economic or a relevant development field. 
  2. Minimum 7 years of experience in handling large-scale projects both geographically and budget wise preferably in an international NGO. 
  3. Experience of leading a large team of professionals.
