Job Description

Project team is being recruited for this UNICEF funded project. These posts are exclusively for native Marathi speakers currently living in the State. Outstanding command of spoken and written Marathi and English are essential. Non-Marathi candidates will not be considered.

Location: Mumbai, currently office is at Santa Cruz East adjacent to Railway station. Will require travel to districts.

Manage Project and all project deliverables

Full time position, 5 day week.

Accountable for Project deliveries: advocacy with State Government and District Administrations, conduct Meets/Orientations/TOT workshops in Mumbai and Districts, work closely with State and District Administrations to set up Task Forces, with outcome of finalised costed DAP and SAP, engage youth, frontline workers and other community stakeholders, deliver content and ensure broadcast over CRS, develop and make presentations both in English and Marathi, develop and implement MIS, document and report.

Remuneration: Remuneration will be between Rs 65,000 and Rs 80,000/- per month

subject to qualifications and experience.

Reporting to: To Founder and MD and operationally to COO.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Qualifications: Post Graduate in Social Work.
  2. Language proficiency: English and Marathi- strong proficiency in written and spoken.
  3. Experience: 10 years’ experience with last 3 years at a senior position as head of Project or team with demonstrated Project Management skills and direct experience of leading projects in close association/collaboration/partnership with State Government of Maharashtra.

Desired Candidate Profile

Post Graduation - MSW

This is a senior position and will deal directly with the highest echelons of the State Government and district Administrations. Strong leadership abilities with proven team building and management skills are necessary. Experience in development sector and on child protection issues will be an advantage.Excellent computer skills with word/power point and excel are essential.


Command over spoken and written Marathi and English are mandatory. Willingness

and ability to travel across Maharashtra. Knowledge of SBCC is desirable.

SBC3 is a UNICEF Partner organisation and has been working with UNICEF on developing SBCC strategies to End Child Marriages in Maharashtra. State wide studies have been done, research and consultations conducted and an comprehensive SBCC plan has been developed. In the next phase starting immediately the task is to work closely with State and District Administrations to develop State Action Plans(SAP) and District Action Plans (DAP). In the current phase the work involves working with State Govt. in Mumbai and with District administrations of 5 districts: Aurangabad, Jalna, Osmanabad, Nanded and Hingoli- all districts with very high levels of child marriages. In addition, we will work with all Community Radio Stations across Maharashtra- developing original radio content, ensure broadcast, build capacity of CRS to conduct localised programmes covering Covid-19, Gender Based Violence
