Job Description

?Listen and respond to the needs of the people affected by leprosy and lymphatic filariasis. 

?Seek approval for plans and budgets to the Board Management Committee and ensure submission of reports and progress against objectives. 

?Define the objectives and monitor, evaluate and report on organisational performance. 

?Manage resources in a legally compliant, efficient and effective manner. 

?Guide the senior staff in implementing strategy, including the planning of projects, new initiatives and seeking collaboration and partnerships. 

?Raise Lepra's public profile and foster good relationships with governments and other statutory and private bodies and with local and international NGO

?To support and develop Lepra's fundraising activities, build strong partnerships with donors and help identify funding opportunities. 

?Develop programming and grant management strategies and systems that are effective and aligned with the organization's vision/mission. 

?Ensure the best asset investment, management and financial administration strategies and systems. 

?To ensure an organisational culture in line with Lepra's values with policies that are fair and consistently implemented to create a supportive working environment with well-motivated, high quality staff. 

?To facilitate and strengthen the development of the Board Management Committee, work closely with them and making sure that they are informed in good time about key developments. 

?To develop and maintain strong two-way lines of communications throughout the organisation. 

?Liaise with Lepra UK regularly to ensure smooth cooperation, funding, reporting and advocacy. Appraise them of all-important developments and achievements. 

Eligibility Criteria

?Excellent knowledge of public health, epidemiology, leprosy or other neglected tropical diseases. 

?Prior experience of programme and project management with proven understanding of organisational financial management and business planning. 

?Experience of charity or corporate governance including working with a Board, "the General Management Committee". 

?Persuasive communication skills and the capacity to deliver complex messages to a variety of audiences, raising the profile of the organization. 

?Experience of institutional and unrestricted fundraising. 

?Evidence of forging strategic alliances and the ability to influence at a governmental and civil society level. 

?Experience of working at senior level in a civil society organisation and willingness to uphold the non-governmental principles of impartiality and independence.
