Job Description

Purpose: Responsible for strategic planning for Resource Mobilization function to achieve diversified and sustainable funding to meet organizational needs and to enable CMCA to have adequate and reliable funding to meet its strategic plans.

1. Develop a comprehensive 3-yr strategic plan and annual plan for the domain which aligns with CMCA’s strategic plan and vision

? Develop a cohesive strategy to meet fundraising goals for each of the next 3 years across various channels

? Prepare, update and monitor annual plans for the domain as per CMCA processes

? Define information flows and RACI frame for the domain

2. Setting up systems and processes for the domain

? Setting up effective donor management systems and any other systems and technology required for raising and managing donations and donors

? Institutionalizing clear and distinct processes for marketing, sales, relationship management for various categories of donors and volunteers.

? This includes engaging high net worth individuals and corporate donors through employee volunteering, internships for children, delightful reporting, gifts and communication

? Document and report on performance of the domain and impacts (outcomes and milestones) as per CMCA requirements

3. Manage team performance and daily operations

? Monitor and review domain delivery on a monthly, half yearly and annual basis

? Articulate and assign roles and responsibilities and key result areas with performance indicators for team members

? Ensure adequate resources are available for work delivery including collaterals, proposals and pitches etc

? Provide feedback and manage performance of team members

? Mentor and coach team members to enhance performance and grow in their careers

4. Strengthen and Grow the fundraising pool across categories

? Identify opportunities across donor categories

? Build and manage relationships with critical stakeholders – internal and external – donors and potential donors

? Identify opportunities to support funded, opportunistic growth and expand the reach of CMCA - depth and breadth

? Establish and institutionalize (in addition, complementary and synergistic to what Program Management does) processes for campaigns that broadbase volunteers and motivate and create a feel good for CMCA

? Closely work with Partnerships Domain to explore, build and leverage opportunities for partnership led funding for specific programs

? Work with Communications Domain to build a sharp, smart, external focussed communication strategy (print, electronic, social, PR) and organization for CMCA with a bias on brand building as an aid to marketing and sales

5. Capacity Building

? Research and keep upto date on new thinking, trends, issues, pertaining to donor management, stakeholder motivation, creative fundraising campaigns, governance and stewardship etc

? Obtain feedback on performance, identify improvement areas and work on self improvement

? Identify capacity building needs for the team and for self in functional and organisational areas

? Identify resources to build skills of self and team as required to improve job performance eg. Networking & Influencing, Project Management, Communication etc

6. Contribute to overall organisation goals

? Support organization initiatives and contribute in management and operational areas as needed (eg. participation in recruitment/ induction, participation in events etc)

? Contribute to decision making as part of the leadership team

Education Background: Min Graduate

Years of experience: 10+ years

Industry Exposure: Development sector experience is a must

Type of Experience :

? Significant experience in fundraising is essential

? Experience in managing the resource mobilization function in a comparable organization would be required

? Experience in high networth relationship management and high value sales would be a bonus
