Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

? The coach is responsible for Leading and Managing the development and implementation of the program. As a sports coach or instructor, your primary job will be to provide sports and life skill training for students. Also assist the coordinator for various different programs and to provide support to the coaching team and school.


GROUND OPERATIONAL DUTIES

? Responsible for developing sports coaching strategy and designing curriculum and manuals for the program.

? To develop training sessions and presentations to the concerned group.

? Responsible for scheduling and organizing training sessions and programs, and for the smooth implementation of quality coaching.

? Developing scorecards of key performance indicators of group progress! It means everyone responsible for the developmental change of students and community.

? Responsible for helping the intern/ass. Coach to understand his/her role and responsibilities.

? Help the coordinator to launch the program and enrolled students.

? Responsible for regular follow up of the students who are irregular and drop out.

? Responsible for preparing teams for tournaments and league exposures and tying with local organizations.

? Responsible for all tournament preparation including travel with children for tournament events and events etc.

? To initiate programs related to other programs such as teachers meeting, parents gathering program, sports as well as facilitation project etc.


INJURY/PROTECTION


? Responsible for ensuring a positive environment free from threats, harassment, bullying and intimidation of language and behaviours.

? Work with interns to ensure that no participant is allowed to practice after school without permission and observation.

? Observes the security status of the facility or sports areas.

? Applies rules and regulations related to conditioning of players and their health and safety.

? Timely reporting of injuries and submitting incident reports to the coordinator.

? Keep all players under surveillance until they leave the ground and / or school building.

? Responsible for following child protection and employee safety policy in all respects.


CHILD PROTECTION


When working with children or adults it's important that Coaches understand that everyone should be treated with respect and to ensure their participants feel they are in a supportive and safe environment. Ensure mutual support amongst players and spectators. If a Coach notices one of their participants or anyone watching is being abusive, you need to make sure they understand that is not allowed and not appropriate and reiterate your ground rules. Coaches are important role models and leaders for their participants; advise them not put to be themselves in any compromising positions.


Code of Behaviour – this is an area in which your association/NGO could introduce to you if not already in place. If any parents/teachers have safety concerns, you can show documentation explaining all our coaches/players/spectators and officials abide by our code of behaviour. In VR, there is a Child Protection Policy that all coaches, staff and volunteers must sign before any interaction with participants.


First Aid – always make sure coaches have their First Aid kits in place at the start of every session and that these are regularly checked to ensure they have their full contents.

When launching a new site or starting the programme with new participants a coach will be responsible for making sure all participants have signed and filled out a letter of consent to undertake the programme. It is important that Coaches are aware of this process and why it is important.


COMMUNICATION & LIASION


? The Coach will be responsible to communicate on a regular basis with the

Program Coordinator daily, weekly and monthly basis (email or telephonically) and provide an update on the programme.

? The person will coordinate with the various Local sport agencies and stakeholders: conduct workshops, events, tournaments and championships at the local as well as national level.

? As per need to communicate with the program manager for emergency updates.


DOCUMENTATION

? The coach will keep and maintain all records and documents and prepare proper reports.

? The coach will provide case stories and success stories to the program coordinator on a monthly basis.

? Responsible for recording everyday attendance of each student and making a yearly attendance report.

? Closely work with the Coordinator to maintain and track all monitoring and evaluation related documents and reports.

? Also make sure about confidentiality of all information and details.


MANAGEMENT OF SPORTS EQUIPMENT

? The coach will regularly contact the program coordinator to purchase and maintain sports equipment.
