Job Description: Program Associate, Delhi
All India Dalit Mahila Adhikar Manch (AIDMAM), an autonomous unit of National Campaign on Dalit Human Rights (NCDHR) (registered as a Society in March 2005 under the Societies Registration Act 1860 in the name of Swadhikar) initiated in the year 2006.
The All India Dalit Mahila Adhikar Manch (AIDMAM) is a platform for women from Dalit communities in India to escalate voices for justice. The organization cultivates Dalit women activists, who are the leaders of a movement for Dalit self-respect and dignity. AIDMAM work spans four major areas: survivor support, grassroots activism, leadership development and international advocacy.
AIDMAM aims to have built a critical mass movement lead by Dalit Women Leaders; working to create community-based movements that have specific frameworks in place to effectively challenge, tackle, and solve caste-based violence and discrimination; and the culture of impunity.
We are seeking to recruit a Program Associate in National Secretariat at Delhi.
Role of Programme Associate-
1. Monitoring human rights violations against Dalit women and minor girls and provide legal support to the survivors to access justice.
2. Assist Program Coordinator to document and undertake Fact Finding cases, Advocacy and Legal interventions to access justice.
3. Assist Program Coordinator to conduct the National and State level activities on monitoring including Fact Finding Missions & Follow up interventions, Public Hearings, Advocates Consultations, Legal Clinics and follow up with Advocates and National Tribunals.
4. Assistance in MIS data maintenance fortnightly, extending guidance to the state members regarding the further steps to follow up the cases legally at administrative level.
5. Assistance in monitoring the cases in the Special courts with the help of advocates if required and extending legal counselling to the survivors.
6. Assistance to the State members in preparation and drafting the representations (for further the case) and applications filing in Special Public Prosecutor appointment in Special Courts; private complaints, applications in Special Courts for relief and rehabilitation of survivors as per Special Laws.
7. Train the state members on legal aspects and strengthen the prosecution skills of advocates in taking up the survivor’s cases in the courts.
8. Assist Program Coordinator in providing engaging with State and National commissions on Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Women and children for submitting representations, advocacy on cases and garnering their support.
9. Assist Program Coordinator in Planning, coordination, reviewing and reporting to strengthen the programme implementation in the states including trainings, workshops, conferences and consultations
10. Undertake field visits and support the State team members to intervene effectively by reviewing and giving feedback.
