Job Description

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Post Graduate/PhD degree in STEM (Computer Science)/Social Sciences (Political Science, Area Studies, International relations)
  • 2-3 years full time research/project experience
  • High proficiency in analytical skills and ability to produce research reports
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with proven ability to manage planning and execution of projects

Location: Delhi

Assignment type: Contractual (12 months)

Compensation: 8.4 lakh- 10.2 lakh INR per annum (Based on experience)

About the Role

We are looking for someone with the ability to combine excellent research, writing and project management skills to deliver two of our projects on emerging technologies and public policy. 

 

Specific Responsibilities 

  • Carry out primary and secondary research in the technology policy sector, on subjects such as infrastructure development, internet governance, cyberspace, disruptive technologies, privacy, data protection, and security, misinformation and disinformation, encryption, data portability and sharing, artificial intelligence, internet of things, etc., and prepare research reports, write briefing papers, monographs, viewpoint papers, etc.
  • Knowledge of practical aspects of policies and regulations on the issue is essential. 
  • Support the creation of primary and secondary research projects including the production of high-quality succinct research outputs of different lengths and for different audiences: academic papers, policy briefs, etc.
  • Support seamless coordination with the Outreach team to disseminate research findings to stakeholders in the policymaking ecosystem.
  • Identify and build a robust pipeline of prospective partners, clients and funders across public and private sectors.
  • Co-design program interventions in collaboration with the team.
  • Manage program timelines and deliverables for effective implementation by setting up project management processes and guidelines.
  • Identify bottlenecks and weaknesses, wherever applicable, and devise strategies and solutions.
  • Ensure effective utilization of program budget through proper planning and tracking of planned activities.
  • Develop original content for social media posts, videos, podcasts, blogs, and websites to highlight relevant CSDR work.
  • A strong network and contacts in the technology policy sector are desirable.

Location: The position will be based at the CSDR office in Delhi. Frequent travel around India with potential for international travel to partners and conferences will be expected.
