Job Description

BROAD EXPECTATIONS

 

The MIS Officer will be overall responsible for maintaining the project MIS and Planning requirements of the project by following WaterAid India’s MIS, Project Planning & Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation framework. The person will be required to support all donor data management requirement and will provide support in compiling the monthly, quarterly and annual reports of the project.

 

Roles & Responsibility:

 

1.MIS reporting on monthly basis:

  • Reporting and updating MIS and other data regularly as per provided formats of WAI and donor.
  • Develop and streamline additional record keeping and reporting formats to be used for capturing necessary information.
  • Preparation and timely submission of the MIS Project documentation to the WAI and donor as per the timelines
  • Support in commissioning of Assessment/Surveys and writing, including analysis, and developing Survey Reports. Support to synthesize both quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Six months line by line follow up to understand project MIS structure.
  • On field physical verification of work done and flag concerns to project manager and SPD
  • Compile program progress from teams and submit it online by 5th of every month
  • Support project review by project manager for MIS closure by 10th of every month

2.Assessments:

  • Supporting roll out of baseline assessments in the project sites and facilitate timely completion of the reports. 
  • Hand holding of the Assessment/Survey teams. Support and monitoring the data collection activities during surveys. Suggesting solutions to the gaps in data collection and other activities conducted by the Survey team.
  • Ensure consistent updating and maintenance of repository of the final survey questionnaires, raw data, and cleaned/processed data and maintain files so that everything is well documented and replicable
  • Data analysis – creating indicators, customized tabulation of data as per the templates developed, survey data analysis.

3.Reporting:

  • Development and submission of different reports such as Weekly MIS reports and Monthly MIS report.
  • Support the team by providing data of coverage of wards and contacts achievement etc.
  • Support District Implementation Lead for preparation of monthly Dashboard and other monthly reports.

Others:

  • Understand the project plan and budget  
  • Support the Planning, Budgeting and Reforecast exercise for the project
  • Collect relevant primary and secondary data for the project 
  • Identify potential case studies from the project location
  • Support any field survey / field information required by the project manager 
  • Manage the front office receive and redirect board telephone calls and manage hospital of visitors in general

4. Any other duties for furthering WAI’s programme implementation as may be assigned by Head – Strategic Initiatives

 

Eligibilities and Qualifications:

 

a.)Qualification/Experience: 

  • Post-graduate/graduate degree (or equivalent) in science, social sciences or similar fields 
  • Work experience between 5-7 years in a similar organizational/ functional context.
  • Experience of using MS-office especially Strong Excel skills (pivot tables and charts with slicer, solvers, statistical functions, etc.)
  • Experience in project MIS, Report writing/Donor reports preparation

b.)Skills, Aptitude and Attitude:

  • Professional language proficiency in English and Hindi.
  • Experience in MIS, Survey /Assessments
  • An analytical mind with great attention to MIS details and process, high level of careful MIS work.
  • Ability to understand local dialects of Hindi and converse in them 
  • Willingness to travel extensively.
