Job Description

Qualification and Skills:

o Postgraduate (PHD, MPH or others) Public health, Social Work, Business management or allied fields

o In-depth knowledge of key populations, community networks, social protection, insurance and public health systems, in terms of technical components and program implementation

o Experience in implementing large scale social and legal protection interventions among the Key populations and PLHIV or other marginalised communities in the country

o Proven abilities in all areas of project oversight, partner, stakeholder and financial management which are detailed under roles and responsibilities section

o Excellent oratory, and written communication skills in English

o Proven ability to train and mentor staff in program and technical areas and on evidence-based decision making

o Experience in and acumen for use of data (statistical inference) for program improvement and strategy formulation

o Sound computer skills, including use of Internet and MS Office™ software

o Ability to work independently and as a team player in a complex, multicultural environment

o Willing to travel extensively across the country

o Minimum two years of commitment to the project and organization


Roles and Responsibilities:


• The Deputy Project Director (DPD) will be responsible for the overall design and operationalization of the program implementation and achievement of the project’s overall outputs and outcomes;

• National level coordination with NACO, coordination with other stakeholder and the community steering committee and ensuring the selection and induction of the SR and SSR.

• Advocacy with the departments and respective SACS for ensuring smooth roll-out of the project

• Provide technical support to the SR teams for ensuring smooth implementation and target achievement

• Regular internal program monitoring and periodic evaluations including weekly, monthly and quarterly and planning of PR team

• Ensure the training curriculum and material developed for social protection training, carry out ToT and ensure the cascade training organised across the operational states

• Coordination with the NGO partners and ensuring the insurance coverage for the non-health frontline workers is provided

• HE/ she will be responsible for development of the SOP, development of the systems for each component they are responsible for.

• Develop project reports and process documents and submit periodic reports to the national program and donor as per the agreed timelines.


Remuneration: Salary will be commensurate with skills, qualifications, years ‘of experience and current pay scale.
