Job Description

The position will be responsible to provide thematic support (Child Protection & Trafficking) under the PROTECT project in a qualitative and timely manner, as per Plan India’s program standards and processes and in compliance with the donor requirements.


Plan India is currently implementing PROTECT Project in states of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal. The goal of this project is elimination of labor, sex and OSEC related trafficking activities in India and Nepal through a multi-layered, comprehensive, community based model of support. The purpose of this project is to prevent cross border child trafficking and missing children, reducing the likelihood of, and empowering young children and their communities, in the fight against trafficking in persons (TIP). This project will directly contribute to the achievement of the objectives under ‘protection of vulnerable children’ program.

Required Qualification and Skills:


1. An academic qualification of Post Graduate in Social Sciences/ Master in Social Work,

2. Seven years of relevant experience in the development sector is preferred with a minimum three years’ experience in child protection and child trafficking programs,

3. Relevant experience of working with government and non-government stakeholders including Department of Women and child Development , Law Enforcing , Civil Society Organisations and Children groups,

4. Efficient time management skill, willingness to work with tight deadline and ability to work in complex and diverse working environment,

5. Good interpersonal communication and problem solving skills with fluency in verbal and written skills in Hindi and English languages. The knowledge of local language of the state will be added value,

6. Well versed with computer applications, data analyses, Word Processing, Power Point Presentations.


TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Up to 70% of the time mostly in the project areas, occasional travel to other locations as per the need
