Job Description

Role Purpose:

 

Under the overall thematic guidance, the project coordinator will be responsible for the implementation, monitoring and measuring all program activities under the project. S/he will act as Save the Children’s advocacy representative to a broad range of external stakeholders including relevant government departments on issues related to Nutrition, Education and Local Governance structures. S/he will work in close collaboration with the project team, government officials and other stakeholders.

Approval Authority (<5):

  • For budgetary authority and similar matters, refer to Scheme of Delegation

Reporting:

Direct (solid-line) to Manager – Project

Key relationships: (Internal & External stakeholders)

Internal Stakeholders (collaborates with): Multi Thematic & multi-functional team at Project Office level

External Stakeholders: ICDS, Health, BMC, Education etc.


Experience

Required:

  • At least 05 -07 Years of experience in NGO or similar organization
  • Who is passionate about working for underprivileged people in Maharashtra.
  • Understanding of the social, economic and political context and issues related to health & nutrition in Maharashtra.
  • Understanding on work of Frontline Health Workers (ASHA/ANM/AWW)
  • Understanding of the structure and functioning of various government departments (Especially ICDS, Health, BMC, Education etc)
  • Ability to develop and understand strategies.
  • Sound Analytical and Technical Skill on Health & Nutrition
  • Have good interpersonal skills-to deal with various stakeholders.
  • Strive for Excellence and Innovation.
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal. 
  • Good Presentations skills. Familiar with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • A good team player and willing to work in a Multidisciplinary and Multicultural Team.
  • Anility to understand capacity building for target beneficiaries – Technical/Commercial/Entrepreneurial.

 

Qualifications

 

  •  Post Graduate/ Diploma in Rural Management/ Social Work/ Social Sciences

 

Preference will be given to candidates having additional qualification & experience on Community Development, health and nutrition, Women and Child Welfare, Education etc.

Desirable:

  • Oral and written Language skills in English, Marathi , Hindi
  • Experience or knowledge of working and living in relevant regions/contexts
  • Humanitarian programming experience
