Jhpiego is hiring for the position of Senior Program Officer – Innovations for the project NISHTHA. The incumbent will be based in New Delhi and will provide support in co-designing, rolling out and scale up of state specific localized innovations across 12 intervention states under NISHTHA project to prepare, prevent and respond to COVID-19 in existing complex and ever evolving emergency situation. The position will report to the Lead – Innovations, NISHTHA.

Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic guidance and act as think-tank for conceptualizing, co-designing and implementation of innovative solutions in demonstration sites established across project geographies

• Work closely with national and state project teams to align, prioritize the challenges and facilitate human centred co-design for localized solutions to mitigate COVID-19 pandemic/ similar public health emergencies and strengthening CPHC services in the intervention states

• Facilitate co-design of geography specific/ need based innovative solutions in consultation with key stakeholders at state/ district/ facility/ community level

• Support project teams to provide strategic support in implementation and monitoring of innovative solutions as per agreed work plan and timelines

• Support the process documentation and learnings outcomes of the innovative solutions for scale up across project and non-project intervention areas

• Generate evidences and support in advocacy with national/ state/ donors for scale up and transition of the innovative solutions rolled out during project period

• Close coordination and work with partners to demonstrate and document the innovative solutions for strengthening the comprehensive primary healthcare systems and COVID-19 response

• Work with national and state monitoring & evaluation teams to establish systems for tracking progress, indicators and deliverables according to agreed work-plans to ensure state and donor requirements are met

• Represent NISHTHA/ Jhpiego at national and state-level meetings involving government and development partners

• Perform other activities, as assigned by the supervisor to achieve organizational goals

Abilities/Skills:

• Ability to lead a diverse technical team

• Ability to develop productive working relationships with other agencies, stakeholders and other organizations including government counterparts

• Ability to work within an international program team and communicate regularly with a variety of team members in multiple locations

• Ability to handle a variety of assignments under pressure of deadlines

• Strong written and oral communication skills in English, and Hindi

• Proficiency in writing technical and programmatic documents such as training materials and reports

• Proficiency in computers – Microsoft Office

• Ability and willingness to travel up to 40 % of his/her time

Qualifications/Knowledge and Experience:

• Bachelors in any stream (Social Sciences/ Social Work/ Medicine/ Dentistry/ AYUSH/ others). Master’s in Public Health/ PG Diploma in Health management/ Masters in Business Management/ Masters in social sciences is essential

• Candidates undergone certificate courses on design thinking & innovations/ human centred designs/ similar fields will be preferred

• At least 5-7 years professional experience in public health with experience of 2 – 3 years in healthcare innovations/ consulting domain

• Technical knowledge and understanding of comprehensive primary healthcare and infectious diseases like COVID-19

• Experience of supporting large scale project planning and implementation will be an added advantage

• Familiarity with the Indian health system, NHM, Ayushman Bharat- Health and Wellness Centers etc.
