Job Description
Reporting to: Project Manager
Project Location: Bodeli Block, Gujart
Working hours: Monday to Friday and work outside normal hours including Saturdays may be required.
Salary: Commensurate with the Skills and Experience
Traveling: travel to project sites maybe required as per the JD responsibilities.
Core Purpose: Assess students’ abilities and teaching plans, Adapt learning/training materials to students’ needs, Keep track of and reflect on students’ progress
Key responsibilities and job description:
- Assess students’ abilities and teaching plans
- Adapt learning/training materials to students’ needs
- Keep track of and reflect on students’ progress
- Monitor children’s behavioral patterns and arrange appropriate interventions if needed
- Find engaging activities to teach skills (e.g. drawing and theatre drama)
- Prepare students for transition to the next grade
- Inform parents about their children’s performance and potential problems
- Coach/mentor other professionals who work with children/adults with disabilities
- Collaborate with the therapy staff (e.g. physiotherapist, Occupational therapist and speech therapists) to create holistic intervention plans
Qualifications and work experience:
- Diploma / B.Ed. Spl education with specialisation in Intellectual Disability/hearing impairment/visual impairment
- Proven experience as a Special Education Teacher
- Good knowledge of current special education topics and methodologies
- Ability to create IEPs and follow up on the IEPs
- A patient, resourceful, and resilient personality
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Contract Period: Project Tenure
Professional and behavioral
- Proficiency in Microsoft office applications such as word, excel & PPT.
- Good communication skills in English, regional language
- Abide by and display CBM core values in all aspects of work
- Flexible approach to work demands
- Ability to work in teams and collaborate with staff at all levels
- Willingness to learn, change and adapt
- Well organized with the ability to multitask
