Location:  MUMBAI / PUNE

 

Katalyst India, is an award winning NGO that stands for the economic and social empowerment of women. Katalyst started in 2007 with the intent of liberating young women, through the pursuit of STEM education. The initiative prepares young women for leadership roles, thereby creating a wider talent pool and helping bridge the gender divide. Katalyst achieves this objective through a blend of unique development interventions, including our 600 hour proprietary and scientifically researched curriculum. Over their four years in the program, we also provide one-to-one mentorship, access to best in class technology, assistance with internships, and world class industry exposure and corporate interactions.

 

Set up with 10 young women, Katalyst now has chapters in Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore and Delhi and has impacted the lives of 1430 girls over 15 years, with 910 currently in the program. Katalyst alumni now occupy positions of seniority in prestigious MNCs and large Indian companies, both in India and abroad, and the Civil and Administrative Services and are also pursuing post-graduation.

 Job Opportunity                                                                                                        

 

Katalyst seeks to recruit a dynamic individual as a Marcomm Executive, who will resume the role to drive the Katalyst communication and visibility. She/He will be responsible for internal and external communications, Digital Media, PR, branding and marketing outcomes to strengthen Katalyst presence across India and the globe. She/He will interact with the internal stakeholders including alumni to create stories and content.

 

It will be 5-day work week which may include a Saturday or Sunday as the programs run on weekend. Availability to travel whenever required for meetings with the corporate, various stakeholders, review meetings and other events. The role will be based in Mumbai.

 

 Responsibilities:                                                                                                        

 

A)    Social Media

1.      Draft content and curate for social media accounts daily, especially Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn, in consultation with the team

2.      Track social media analytics every week, and run campaigns and tests to look for optimization opportunities across audiences

3.      Spot social media trends relevant to Katalyst's work in education especially STEM, woman empowerment, and leadership, both globally and in India, with a view to


 

aligning curated news article sharing posts, developments, member, business and policy efforts

4.      Draft social media toolkits with standardized keywords, hashtags, and mentions, on a daily basis for sustained engagement

5.      Execute the communication team's digital marketing and content amplification strategy

6.      Run campaigns and tests to look for optimization opportunities across audiences

 

B)     Editorial & Communications:

1.      Provide writing, editing, and copy-editing support to the leadership and program teams, helping with the production of compelling written and visual communications

2.      Develop program-related communication for donor reporting and grant applications.

3.      Capture good images of various activities

4.      Create written and video stories of Katalyst students and alumni

5.      Engage with various stakeholders to get testimonials and profiles

6.      Prepare and disseminate quarterly and special edition Newsletters, Yearbook, and other collaterals


C)     Website Content Management

1.      Ensure Katalyst’s website and microsites are updated

2.      Draft and perform quality control checks on all new and revised content

3.      Check for length, language, flow, spelling, and grammar; and collate content as required

4.      Cross-promote content, templates, and design on digital media

5.      Identify creative and interactive ways to share content on the website and digital media

 

D)    Event Planning

1.      Help with Katalyst Annual Convention and related collaterals, visibility, and communication

2.      Press Release, article, blog, and op-ed draft and dissemination (pre and post)

1.     Applicants must have a degree in Communications, Marketing, English, or other, relevant field;

2.     Qualifications in content writing, copywriting, or understanding of design sof

Eligibility Criteria

A)    Qualification:

1.     Applicants must have a degree in Communications, Marketing, English, or other, relevant field;

2.     Qualifications in content writing, copywriting, or understanding of design softwares and manage digital media, shall be an added advantage.


B)     Experience:

1.     Applicant can have work experience of 2 – 5 years in digital and offline content creation and management would help (even at college level)

2.     Understanding of the social sector and development issues, shall be an added advantage;

 

C)     Skills and Competencies:

1.     Ability to brainstorm, creative growth strategies for digital and social media outreach, along with in-depth understanding of web best practices and standards;

2.     Ability to build and maintain productive relationships with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders;

3.     Basic knowledge of design software such as InDesign, Illustrator, Corel Draw and Photoshop;

4.     Understanding of how websites are built and basic troubleshooting skills relating to SEO, SEM, etc.;

5.     Creativity and flair for writing with excellent command over English language

6.     Enthusiastic, flexible, technically curious and willing to learn;

7.     Empathetic and passionate about the cause of Katalyst

8.     Ability to work independently and be a self-starter yet be collaborative

9.     Willing to travel
