As one of the largest non-governmental organizations in the country, Pratham focuses on high-quality, low-cost, and replicable interventions to address gaps in the education system. Established in 1995 to provide education to children in the slums of Mumbai, Pratham has grown both in scope and geographical coverage. Pratham is a widely recognized organization, having received notable awards such as the WISE Prize for Innovation, Skoll Award for Social Entrepreneurship, the Henry R Kravis Prize in Leadership, and the CNN IBN Indian of the Year for Public Service. 

Program Summary 

Gurushala was launched in September 2019 offering a variety of free high-quality interactive resources including online courses on innovative pedagogies, curated digital content aligned to the school curriculum and a networking platform for teachers across India. In 2021, Gurushala initiated its engagement with students through online assessments and a range of online classes for students. The program has aimed to positively impact the learning levels of students by training teachers to integrate technology and innovative group learning pedagogies inside the classroom. Gurushala, a mobile application, is an initiative of Indus Towers Ltd. and Vodafone Idea Foundation and is implemented by Pratham Education Foundation and is also available as a website. While continuing to provide resources, Gurushala is also looking to expand to a new target audience while deepening engagement with the existing target audience

Position Summary

The incumbent will be working within the content development team which is primarily responsible for customizing and developing content for Gurushala which is envisaged as a one-stop platform for all requirements of teachers: content, pedagogy ideas, networking with other teachers and ideas on using technology in classrooms. It focuses on the needs of teachers and students considering which new courses and content will be created and made available to the audience. The key focus areas of the incumbent's position involve presentations, researching, sourcing, writing and editing appropriate digital content to be uploaded on the web portal for teachers and educators. The programme works on multiple channels to reach out to the teachers and students and the incumbent's participation will be expected in other tasks of the programme.

Key Responsibilities

• Designing and conduct offline-online trainings, workshops, events etc. for teacher capacity building
• Research, source, write interesting content for teachers, principals related to pedagogy, use of digital content in classrooms, leadership skills etc., subject and skill-based courses for students
• Write case studies, conduct interviews of teachers using the content
• Analyze key performance indicators to determine the effectiveness of content on the platform
• Supporting the programme team with other tasks as required

Working Details and Remuneration

• Remuneration will be commensurate to the candidate’s experience and will be within the range of INR 30,000-40,000 CTC per month
• The incumbent will be based in New Delhi and will have to travel regularly across the country

Eligibility Criteria

Required Skills and Abilities

• Proven ability to create online content for teachers related to pedagogy or subjects
• Ability to generate content ideas and create content for the portal as per requirement
• Ability to work cohesively with a team and also independently with strong initiative and proactive involvement
• Attention to detail and strong command over language and grammar in Hindi and English
• Proficiency in Microsoft office suits and Google suite. Candidates with basic typing skills in Hindi (through Google Input tools or Kruti) will be preferred
• Bachelor's degree or Post-graduation in any relevant field
• 1+ years of work experience in developing content and working with educators. Candidates with prior experience in developing digital content or courses for websites or educational institutions will be preferred
