Job Description

We are looking to onboard an impact-driven individual to lead the SLM Program’s Gender and Social Inclusion mandate and to provide end-to-end support to the Head of Programs in program design and implementation.


Our cross-cutting theme of Gender and Social Inclusion needs sensitivity around rights-based perspective that understands power equations at the community level, a systems-thinking worldview that can see structural difference and notice intersections between different work areas and the ability to talk to all genders with empathy, putting themselves in the shoes of the other and contextualizing experiences and yet, set boundaries with the community to ensure work happens uninterrupted. 


Responsibilities: 


Program Design and Implementation

  • Lead end to end program planning and design for the Gender and Social Inclusion vertical, in line with the long- term vision and strategic goals of the Foundation
  • Lead research on women-centric livelihoods suitable for Raintree intervention area in accordance with beneficiaries’ interest and develop program design aligned with organisational goals
  • Introduce Life-skills trainings for women and build sense of leadership to participate at community-level
  • Ensure inclusion of women at community level through social activities at field level
  • Design strategies to increase participation of women in village level decision-making and in the rural/village/cluster economy
  • Ensure that the proposed programs are designed to be feasible on the ground, viable and within the proposed budget
  • Ensure that the program design and implementation is scalable, replicable and demonstrates impact
  • Ensure smooth execution of the programs on the ground in coordination with the Program Managers - Field Implementation, Environment, Livelihoods, Disability & Mental Health
  • Oversee work of the Field Teams and Community Resource Persons (CRPs) to ensure alignment with the program goals and objectives


Partnership and Stakeholder Management

  • Ensure due diligence for potential partnerships and continue engagement with existing partners through budget reviews and grant reporting mechanisms
  • Build and sustain effective engagement with the Knowledge and Implementation Partners, diverse stakeholder groups including local rural community, Panchayat level officials, Block and District Officials especially working on health and allied services
  • Establish partnerships with other expert organizations working in field of Gender and Social Inclusion


Research, Monitoring and Evaluation

  • Lead all primary and secondary research needed during program design, strategy and implementation phases
  • Lead continuous gathering of data, analysis and feedback from the ground to improve the program design
  • Ensure that annual action plans are in line with agreed upon M&E indicators


Integration across Sustainable Landscape Management Program

  • Ensure integration of Gender and Social Inclusion perspectives into other development programs- water security, sustainable livelihoods, institutions and governance, ecological conservation, and mental health
  • Lead effective planning and risk mitigation frameworks for all program and ‘integrated approach’ related challenges



Eligibility Criteria

Qualification:

  • Masters (or an equivalent degree) in social work, gender studies, humanities, or public health


Experience:

  • Minimum 7-8 years of work experience and proven abilities in design and implementation of gender and social inclusion related programs


Capabilities:

  • Strong thematic understanding of gender and social inclusion
  • Expertise in program design methodology and techniques pertaining to large scale gender and social inclusion projects
  • Practical and hands-on experience of working on development projects with a focus on marginalised populations and bringing in an intersectional, rights-based perspective
  • Demonstrated ability to provide intellectual leadership in partnerships and resource mobilization
  • Data and Budget management skills, including data collection, budget preparation, analysis, decision- making and reporting
  • Strong primary and secondary research skills
  • Strong Systems Thinking skills
  • Proficient communication skills in English and Marathi (Both Verbal and Written)
  • Working knowledge of MS Office is essential
