Job Description

The Senior Manager - Resource Mobilization is a senior level position at Toybank that helps coordinate the organization’s efforts in raising funds to meet its overall organizational and programmatic funding needs. The role includes: building meaningful partnerships, supporting and engaging strategically with grant giving foundations/institutions, Corporate CSR departments, HNIs, etc. The role encompasses both acquisition of new funding relationships, as well as nurturing and retaining existing funding relationships. This role also oversees the ‘Volunteer Action’ function as effective engagement of volunteers from Corporate CSR Funders is a critical component of our overall fund-raising and donor engagement program.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and work on fundraising campaigns and initiate new avenues of funding for the organization
  • Achieve the organization’s fundraising targets and develop a resource mobilization strategy with quarterly implementation plans
  • Generate leads from multiple channels including research and networks, conduct opening conversations with potential donors and develop outreach and partnering strategies; maintain a pipeline of potential donors
  • Prepare tailor-made communications materials (e.g. concept papers, proposals, and reports) based on donor preferences - in close partnership with Communications, Programmes, Finance, Monitoring & Evaluation, and other verticals.
  • Coordinate donor meetings, develop and follow up on leads from the programme heads and senior management; Represent Toybank in events, forums and meetings
  • Build brand visibility of Toybank and its programmes, in close collaboration with Communications vertical; position Toybank as the ‘philanthropy partner of choice’ within the industry.
  • Maintain highly engaging relationships with existing donors, establish an amazing donor experience by responding to their requests regularly and keeping them updated about the work and results of the organization; this includes overseeing and guiding the Volunteer Action team which engages closely with volunteers from our CSR donors in the private sector.
  • Help strengthen the fundraising team, systems, policies and processes as needed to support the fundraising plan and donor management practices
  • Plan and manage fundraising resources and budget



Eligibility Criteria

  • College degree required; with qualifications in Communication / Management /Marketing / Development Studies / Social Sciences is highly preferred
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant experience preferably directly in fundraising/ resource mobilization; proven track record of fundraising and ongoing donor management / donor retention with excellent networks within the industry
  • Creative and strategic thinker, with high process orientation, research skills, and the ability to meticulously operationalise fundraising and donor engagement plans using data and systems
  • Excellent communications skills (oral and written) including presentations, proposals, reports writing etc.
  • Results focused and deadline-driven with strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Self-motivated with excellent planning, organizing and multi-tasking skills
  • A people-centered leadership style with zero tolerance for gossip, negative behaviors and any other barrier to building a harmonious organizational culture
  • Highly collaborative style of working; enjoys working with various teams
  • Action oriented leader with high degree of persistence; embraces change, enjoys problem solving and setting structures in a fast-paced environment
