Job Description

To strengthen SSDC's Child Protection programme, SSDC needs one (1) District Officer on contract basis (probation period of 3 months at the beginning) for one year initially. Further renewal will be made based on performance of the candidate and/or availability of fund.


Job Responsibilities:

i. Steer the program at district level as laid in the project proposal and ensure achievement of project deliverables as per timeline in co-ordination with technical team.

ii. Establish and strengthen relationship with District & Block level officials, and Panchayati Raj Institutions at field level.

iii. Liaise with DCPU for execution of the program at District level.

iv. Organize and participate in trainings for Cadres for the Competency based 'on the job' training course.

v. Follow up and support Cadres in the training and provide support to cadre with technical assistance from DCPU and technical team for producing evidence of their performance to meet occupational standards for their specific role (evidence generation on MIS, referrals, case studies & case management status etc.)

vi. Develop and share monthly and quarterly report.

vii. Responsible for Management Information System (MIS) mechanism of Save the Children,

viii. Develop process documentation of the program during the entire project period along with good practices and case studies compendium

ix. Monitor and supervise the Cadres.

x. Conduct monthly review meetings of Cadres.

xi. Take lead in translation of various child protection materials, IECs etc. in Save the Children.

xii. Monitor data collection by Cadres at the time of Vulnerability Assessment, end line and during the entire project period.

xiii. Involve in any other suitable task provide by the organization

Last Date of Submission of application: Up to 04:00 PM of 17.11.2022


Salary: Rs. 34,100 (Rupees Thirty Four Thousand One Hundred) per month. Tax deduction will apply to the mentioned amount in accordance with the prevailing Income tax legislation / policy of Government of India.

Eligibility Criteria

Qualification: Master’s in Social Works or in equivalent subject(s).


Experience required: 5 years minimum in social development sector and minimum 3 years in implementing Child Protection project(s) in West Bengal in a supervisory role.


Technical proficiency: Should be a confident user of MS-Office, independent handling of e-mail & internet.


Language proficiency: Bengali is a must (both verbal and writing) and expertise in English writing along with fair fluency in spoken English


Age limit: Maximum 40 years as on 17.11.2022
