Job Description

Manager, Communications will be responsible for producing and managing contents for digital and non-digital channels to support the communication strategy that displays a coherent message on ChildFund India’s core intent, programs initiatives and enhances visibility and brand recognition towards internal and external audiences. The position will be reporting to Senior Manager, Communications.

S/he will closely work and provide guidance to Communications Officers in development, editing and production of communications, branding and fundraising materials to support programs team and resource mobilization efforts of ChildFund India. S/he will facilitate cross-learning by comprehensively incorporating organizational lessons in communications materials.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide Communications support to Country Office of ChildFund in India and contribute to the advancement of Communications agenda by proactively collaborating with teams at country, regional and global levels and provide necessary information and generate ideas for content/PR/advocacy.
  • Coordinate with International Office and ChildFund Alliance offices, as necessary, to respond to their information needs.
  • Actively support and coordinate for implementing national communications strategy, including digital and social media engagements, consistent with the organization’s core intent, and strategic direction.
  • Lead development, maintenance and expansion of the ChildFund India website and social media platforms; coordinate online queries/responses and serve as focal point for management of the organization’s social media networks.
  • Develop, edit and proofread articles, stories, capture photos and videos as per need to support visibility, fundraising, PR, advocacy at the local, national and international levels.
  • In coordination with other departments at the Country Office, develop and distribute information, communications and high quality printed, audio-visual, digital fundraising, and marketing/promotional materials to target audiences, including Corporates, individuals, government departments, donor agencies

Eligibility Criteria

QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE/COMPETENCIES

  • Post-graduation/ Master’s degree in Communications/Media/Marketing 
  • At least 5-7 years of demonstrated experience in communications and media relations, preferably with an international development organization.
  • In-depth understanding of brand development and communications, with experience in developing, managing and assessing integrated communications and promotional plans.
  • Strong organizational skills, and ability to deliver high quality work, under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and simultaneously manage multiple projects.
  • Superior writing and editing skills, excellent oral communications skills; fluency in English required. Sound understanding of the local language will be an advantage.
  • Global mindset and good interpersonal skills, including ability to work effectively as part of a local team, and across organizational lines and geographic boundaries.
  • Skill in print quality photography and production of short videos.
  • Knowledge of how media coverage is generated.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Word-processing, desktop and web-based publishing, photo and video editing.
  • Be gender sensitive with strong conviction and skills for the empowerment of excluded and disadvantaged children.
