Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead all activities relating to documentation, data management, and research documentation in close coordination with team members of seed system and product management
  • Handles partner communications, LoAs , reporting, monitoring including technical and financial aspects
  • Handholding implementing collaborators to identify, select and build stories highlighting key outcomes of the interventions
  • Support varietal /seed logistic process , timely procurement and strong coordination within the region to connect the administrative staff and technical staff
  • Lead any kind of field and on-station events , training arrangements and related communication
  • Lead coordination between IRRI Communication team for social media handling and article, news pieces and other communication related needs
  • Supporting research team with questionnaire designing, enumerators training, and data quality checks
  • Close engagement with Partners like SAUs, ICAR institutes, NGO, Pvt partners
  • Close coordination between breeding, administration, communication to enable the seed system team better
  • Close coordination with institutions around germplasm movements and related activities
  • Department of Agriculture, Block and district agriculture and rural development offices to identify and document good practices and research outcomes
  • Identification and engagement with partnered farmers’ collectives (FPO/FPC/women SHG etc) to understand and build stories on seed scaling programs and seed entrepreneurship
  • Need-based engagement with seed corporation units, private seed companies, and also local seed enterprises for product advancement through their channels

Allowances

 

In addition to the base salary indicated above, IRRI also offers the following allowances:

  • House-Rent Allowance: IRRI provides a house rent allowance of 40% of base pay per month
  • Transport Allowance: A monthly transport allowance of INR 4000
  • Dearness Allowance: One Hundred and Thirteen percent (113%) of employee’s base pay
  • Leave Travel Allowance (LTA): One-month base pay per annum, on availing minimum 2 days of vacation leave
  • Education Allowance: INR 1000/- per child per month (limited 2 children)

Eligibility Criteria

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Extension education and communication/Agribusiness Management/Rural Management with minimum 5 years of relevant work experience around research & development work in seed systems, product management, rural innovation models, technology transfer/promotion, or
  • Master’s degree in Agriculture Science/Agribusiness Management/Rural Management with minimum 1-2 years of relevant work experience around research & development work in seed systems, product management, rural innovation models, technology transfer/promotion

Skills Required

 

Mandatory

  • Has strong documentation and research analytical skills
  • Has strong oral and written communication and scientific documentary skills
  • Has strong organization and interpersonal skills
  • Has experience of working with private sector and government stakeholders
  • Has experience with gender and rural development approaches
  • Has experience on data analysis and statistical tools like SPSS/STATA, R, STARR, and Research designer software like Survey Be/ODK/CSPRO/KOBO/Survey Monkey or similar

Preferred

  • Working experience around research and documentation around seed system
  • Work experience with international organization and area of international development is preferred
  • Good understanding of seed systems and models
