Job Description

The Project Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day implementation of the project as agreed between the partners of the project. She/he will be responsible for mobilising the target communities, training, humanitarian relief, advocate for access to health services for the beneficiaries, data collection and analysis and reporting. She/he will be a part of a team with responsibiliy to help staff with planning, implementing and monitoring project activities as well as participate and lead some of the activities related to registration, health and education of the refugees and asylum seekers.

 

Health

 

Following are the specific roles and key responsibilities:

  • Connecting project target beneficiaries to the medical facilities available.
  • Procurement of Medical equipment and educating community members on the use of equipment
  • Procurement and Distribution of required medicine or other necessary items
  • Documenting and reporting about the work done.
  • Keep in touch with relevant officers in UNHCR and attend meetings
  • Organise community meetings in the location to assess obstacles the community faces to access government health, early child care and education services and find solutions collectively
  • Communicate information about government services to the refugees in such a way as to help them access services
  •  Identify vulnerable persons in the community; assess and document their needs
  • Assist refugees to obtain documentation that ensures legal protection and access to services
  •  Advocate with Anganwadi centres, schools, health service providers, and officials for increasing the access of refugee community to government services
  • Collect data from the community on issues relating to legal protection, access to services and relations with local community
  • nteract with local host community and organise activities that promote cooperation between the refugees and host community
  • Maintain financial documents relating to expenses incurred for implementing activities
  • Coordinate with relevant, Project Manager, UNHCR staff and DAJI Director for implementation of the project

Education

 

Following are the specific roles and key responsibilities:

  • Develop strategy and conceptualise program development and implementation plan in coordination with the Manager
  • Support and mentor supportive supervision staff, through joint monitoring visits, in conducting classroom observations and providing feedback to teachers
  • Support DAJI in preparing progress reports and documentation of best practices
  •  Keeping records of all the files and important documents
  • Attend weekly and monthly meetings of UNHCR and DAJI
  • Support the refugee population in the admission of children at government school
  • Work closely with children from the community, identify and train men and women volunteers for increasing children’s access to early child care and elementary education

Registration

 

Following are the specific roles and key responsibilities:

  • To capture information about Refugees/Asylum seekers through Computer software ProGresV4 designed by UNHCR
  • To provide socio-legal counselling to refugee on issues of protection/ special needs
  • To attend trainings/workshops/meetings whenever required on refugees
  • To coordinate with UNHCR in the documentation renewal activity and to conduct FR/Registration of the refugees residing in Rajasthan
  •  Report writing and documentation


Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

 

Candidates applying for this post must have a master's degree in humanities, social work, or law. Person having a two years experience in the relevant field will be preferred.

Key Skills Required

  • Excellent English writing skills
  • Familiarity with email and other forms of communication and holding online meetings
  •  Fluency in English and Hindi language is essential. Knowledge of regional and foreign languages will be an additional asset
  • Good Windows and Microsoft office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel) and internet skills
  •  Skills to respond to situations and reporting requirements in a timely manner
  •  Skills to nurture the capacities of junior staff
  • Ability to work as a part of a team as well as on one’s own
  •  The candidate is expected to possess good counselling and communication skills (written and oral) and the ability to work in a mixed cultural environment
  • The candidate should possess a Human Rights perspective approach

Experience Required: Candidates applying for this post must have worked with refugees/ migrants/ urban poor in similar capacities for a minimum of two years.
