Job Responsibilities

The job involves working closely with Government Hospitals and Departments connected with children in various districts of J and K. Children In India’s programme involves identification of children with certain disabilities and provide them with requisite care leading to mainstream education in Government schools as per the mission objective of Children In India

Job Responsibilities

1.Identification of children with disabilities and developmental delays in association with hospitals, WCD, Anganwadis and ASHA workers

2.Organize clinics in hospitals to identify children with birth defects and developmental delays

3.Maintain and update of database of children

4.Organize/facilitate trainings of counsellors. Grass root level workers, healthcare professionals as required.

5.Ensure parents are fully informed about the treatment and progress of their child and that they have a good understanding of the treatment process.

6.Ensure long-term community/home based rehabilitation of the affected children

7.Function as an advocate by raising local community awareness of disability and development delays

8.Facilitate distribution of assistive devices to identified children

9.Work closely with the Dist. RBSK team for referrals and participate actively in their various activities such as health camps and events.

10.Organize a clinic parent support group.

Eligibility Criteria

MA/MSW with at least 3 to 5 years of experience of working in the development sector preferably involving young children with disabilities

Willing to work and travel in J and K

Women are especially encouraged to apply
