Role

• Development and Policy (DP) Research & Writing Associate. 
• Full time engagement is preferred but applicants interested in a part time engagement are encouraged to apply as well.

 Responsibilities

• Required to research and create diverse documentation such as grants, policy briefs, concept notes,  in the fields of social impact, development and / or policy;
• Must possess the skills to structure and draft diverse documents; 
• Required to coordinate/support internal and external activities (local or international meetings, drafting and editing of minutes, presentations, partners communications via email or telephone etc); 
• To provide general copy-edit/editorial assistance for diverse documents and communication materials;
• Engage in other ad hoc/miscellaneous tasks as needed; and 
• To carry out such other work as required by their reporting manager, the ops head, and the Helm founder, as per the Intern’s role. 

Eligibility Criteria

Ideal Candidate/ Requirements and Skills: 

• Individuals pursuing/ having a masters degree in development studies/public policy/social sciences OR students pursuing/having an LLB or LLM degree OR journalism; 
• 1-2 years of work experience is preferred.
• Strong quantitative and/or qualitative research and data analysis skills required; 
• Should be able to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, to a varied and broad audience in a simple and concise manner; 
• Fluency in English is a must; alongside, fluency in any regional language would be an asset; 
• Must have excellent analytical and organisational skills; 
• Should have a keen interest in the changemaker ecosystem; 
• Demonstrated interest in SDGs, systems change, innovation & social entrepreneurship; 
• Good interpersonal and social skills and the ability to work in a multicultural,  intergenerational setting; 
• Demonstrated intent, skill, and self-driven work ethic; 
• Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively, in a fast paced dynamic environment;
• Possess attention to detail.; 
• Must have access to a computer and working internet connection; 
• Must have basic computer literacy and be able to use Google Drive, Microsoft Office. 
• Must be willing to explore using apps and tools for productivity and task management; 
• Keen to work in a diverse and inclusive setting; ;
• Possess integrity and loyalty;
• Must submit 2 writing samples of published or unpublished work where you are the sole author.

Work Location: 

• Remote. 

Work Days + Timings:

• Monday to Friday. Office hours are typically 8 hours per day - 10 am to 6pm.  
• However, reasonable accommodations for flexible working hours are made. 

Remuneration:

• Range of INR 20K-30K per month. Will be determined as per the candidate's experience and caliber.
