Job Description

Role

  • Research and Communications Associate. .
  • Full time engagement is preferred but applicants interested in a part time engagement are encouraged to apply as well. 



Responsibilities

  • Required to research and create diverse documentation in the fields of social impact, development and / or policy;  
  • Produce written materials for projects in Helm’s portfolio; 
  • Coordinate with other partners / projects on major themes and learning events;
  • Required to coordinate / support internal and external activities (local or international meetings, drafting and editing of minutes, presentations, partners communications via email or telephone etc);
  • Provide strategic support to the Directors and leadership team;
  • Draft success stories, press releases, blog posts, and other content to advance the principal messages of individual projects and the organisation as a whole;
  • Provide general copy-edit / editorial tasks for other communication materials;
  •  Support in project management and other functions of the office as appropriate for a small multipurpose team supporting start-up operations;
  • To provide general copy-edit/editorial assistance for diverse documents and communication materials;
  • To carry out such other work as required by the Directors and leadership, and reporting managers of Helm, as per the candidate’s role.  


Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility

  • Individuals having a Bachelor’s or a Master’s degree in Journalism, Development Studies /Public Policy / Social Sciences, OR Individuals having an LLB or LLM. 
  • 2-4 years of work experience is preferred.


Ideal Candidate/ Requirements and Skills: 

  • Familiarity with basic quantitative and / or qualitative research and data analysis required; 
  • Excellent analytical skills; 
  • Effective written and verbal communication; 
  • Fluency in English is a must; alongside, fluency in any regional language would be an asset; 
  • Excellent organizational skills; 
  • Should have an interest in the changemaker / social impact ecosystem; 
  • Keen to work in a diverse and inclusive setting; 
  • Possess integrity and loyalty;
  • Demonstrated intent, skill, and self-driven work ethic; 
  • Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively, in a dynamic environment;
  • Must have access to a computer and working internet connection; 
  • Must have basic computer literacy and be able to use: Google Drive, Microsoft Office, 
  • Must be willing to explore using apps and tools for productivity and task management

Probation Period: 

  • 3 months 


Work Location: 

  • Remote. 


Work Days + Timings:

  • Monday to Friday. Office hours are typically 8 hours per day - 10 am to 6pm.  
  • However, reasonable accommodations for flexible working hours are made. 



Remuneration:

  • INR 40,000-45,000. Will be determined as per the candidate's experience and calibre.
