Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the under-mentioned 1 vacancy:

Project Title: Mangrove afforestation in Mayiladuthurai Coastal District, Tamilnadu with community participation for building the resilience of coastal communities

Name of the Post: Project Manager (One Post)

Project Location- Mayiladuthurai Coastal District, Tamil Nadu’

Qualification:

 Graduation in Zoology/Botany/ /Environmental Science- or allied subjects (Post Graduate will be preferred).

 Proficiency in English, and Tamil – reading, writing, and speaking.

 Minimum 2 to 3 years experience working on the conservation of coastal flora Climate change/ Wetland management/ Wildlife Conservation/ Community Livelihood.

 Passionate to work in the community-science interface

 Capacity to organize and mobilize communities

Scope of Work:

 Understanding of the community resilience and link to biodiversity conservation of the project area.

 Understanding of the habitat and endangered species in the context of the project area.

 Facilitating the livelihood activities and monitoring of the SHGs.

 Monitoring the various parameters of the project cycle with a Result Based Approach.

 Implementation of project activities to achieve defined project outcomes.

 Field engagement for implementing, supervising, and monitoring the administrative, technical, operational, and financial components of the project.

 Design and lead various surveys related to biodiversity, livelihoods, socioeconomic, etc and prepare analytical reports for advocacy and planning

 Maintaining liaison with Government departments.

 Writing reports (Annual, half-yearly, Completion) and contents of pamphlets, brochures, etc for disseminating lessons learned/case studies/policy documentation, etc

 Facilitate organizing Training at the community level.

 Overseeing data documentation and record-keeping.

 Able to work in multi-socio-cultural, socio-economical, socio-political circumstances.

 Good leadership quality, professionally managing the project team with an inclusive approach.

 Community mobilization.

Benefits:

 Gross Monthly Salary: 40,000-45,000 (depending on qualification and experience)

Contract Period- Initially 1 year (Extendable on the basis of performance) : Project Period – 3 years
