Job Description

The office of a Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) is seeking highly motivated and organized Legislative Assistants to join their team. The Legislative Assistants will work closely with the MLA to provide administrative and research support on legislative matters, as well as help to coordinate and manage the MLA's office.

Responsibilities:

• Research, analyze and summarize policy and legislative issues for the MLA.

• Prepare briefing notes, speeches, and other written materials for the MLA.

• Monitor and report on legislative proceedings and committee meetings.

• Assist the MLA in developing and implementing legislative strategies and initiatives.

• Coordinate meetings and events for the MLA, including scheduling and logistical support.

• Manage the MLA's correspondence and communication with constituents and stakeholders.

• Maintain accurate records of legislative activities and correspondence.

• Provide administrative support to the MLA's office, including managing the MLA's schedule and calendar.

• Liaise with other MLAs, government officials, and stakeholders on behalf of the MLA.

  • About Organization:The MLACDS is fully funded by the State Government and each MLA identifies and proposes the works to be executed in his Constituency. The Scheme is implemented both in rural and urban areas. The main objective of the Scheme is to identify and implement the essential works to bridge the critical infrastructure gaps in the Assembly Constituencies. The allocation of funds under the Scheme for the year 2017-18 is increased from Rs.2.00 Crores to Rs.2.5 Crores. Out of Rs.2.5 Crores, a sum of Rs.1.5 Crores is for Tied Components. For providing infrastructure facilities to schools at a cost of Rs.0.20 Crore and remaining Rs.1.3 Crores is for providing CC Roads, BT Roads, Water Supply works and other works which falls under negative list of MLACDs.
