Job Description

Background:

The videographer is responsible for the video and photography- related content put out by the organisation. They are to contribute to the entire video-making process from conceptualisation, to shooting and editing.

They will also assist the social media team in increasing engagement across all platforms.

Responsibilities:

1. Managing everything in the video-making process from conceptualisation to the final product through editing.

2. Shooting professional videos for various social media platforms including Instagram and Youtube.

3. Editing videos seamlessly using advanced software.

4. Accompanying social activists to shelter homes, slums and other grassroot locations to film content.

5. Ideating video concepts and writing scripts in collaboration with the social media team.

6. Creating graphics for social media handles.

7. Assisting the social media team to develop new digital campaigns to raise awareness about acid attacks and crimes against women.


Qualifications:

1. A Bachelor’s degree in any field is required.

The candidate must be proficient in photo and video editing software like (Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Photoshop etc.)

2. The candidate must be comfortable handling a DSLR and should have advanced knowledge about light, angles and getting the perfect shot.

3. The candidate should know basic websites for developing graphics such as Canva, Adobe Design Suite etc.

4. At least one year experience in videography is preferred.

5. Proficiency in Hindi and English, in order of preference, with writing skills.

6. Willingness to travel to different locations with activists to film content.

Preference will be given to acid attack survivors, women, LGBTQIA+, Dalits and minorities.

Based upon decade long experience of our founders working with victims of human rights violations and particularly acid attack victims, we report that most prefer loss of a limb, rape or even death over an acid attack. We believe that preventing acid attacks and securing justice for its victims is the most important area of human rights.
