Position Overview:
The Senior Manager - M&E (Monitoring and Evaluation) and Learning is a critical role within the organization, responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and evaluation of programs and initiatives. This position plays a key role in ensuring the organization's effectiveness and impact by driving evidence-based decision-making and fostering a learning culture.
Core Roles and Responsibilities: 70%
Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) System Development:
· Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive M&E system, including frameworks, indicators, data collection tools, and processes.
· Collaborate with program managers and stakeholders to ensure that M&E activities are integrated into program design and implementation.
Data Collection and Analysis:
· Operationalize data collection efforts, ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of data.
· Analyze M&E data to assess program performance, outcomes, and impact. Provide insights and recommendations for program improvement.
Learning and Knowledge Management:
· Promote a learning culture within the organization by encouraging the sharing of best practices, lessons learned, and successes across teams and programs.
· Develop systems to capture and disseminate knowledge from evaluation findings to inform program design and decision-making.
Program Evaluation:
· Plan and conduct program evaluations, including baseline and endline assessments, to measure program effectiveness and impact.
· Coordinate external evaluations, when necessary, and ensure the utilization of evaluation findings for program improvement.
Capacity Building:
· Provide training and capacity-building support to program staff and partners on M&E methodologies, data collection techniques, and data analysis.
· Facilitate workshops and learning sessions to enhance the M&E skills and knowledge of staff members.
Reporting and Documentation:
· Prepare regular M&E reports and dashboards for organizational leadership, board members, and donors.
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of program data and evaluation findings.
Donor Reporting and Compliance:
· Ensure timely and accurate reporting to donors on program progress, outcomes, and impact in alignment with grant requirements.
· Ensure compliance with donor monitoring and evaluation guidelines.
External Stakeholder Engagement:
· Collaborate with external partners, funders, and stakeholders to share M&E findings, promote learning, and foster strategic partnerships.
Ethics and Data Security:
· Ensure the ethical collection, storage, and use of data, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to data protection policies.
Link Responsibilities: 15%
· Support adaptive management by providing data-driven recommendations for program course correction.
· Network with other nonprofit organizations to explore MEAL best practices.
Systemic Responsibilities: 15%
· Engage in upholding and strengthening the core values of the organisation, foster transparent and open feedback system.
· Identify areas for program improvement based on M&E findings and work with program teams to implement necessary changes.
· Support adaptive management by providing data-driven recommendations for program course correction.

Qualifications and Experience:
? A master’s degree in Statistics / Social Sciences/ Demography or related discipline is preferred, with minimum 12-15 years of working experience in non-profits.
? Relevant certifications on database management, learning tools, data analytics, research tools and methodologies will be preferred and add on to the profile.
Post Graduation - M.Sc
Skills and competencies:
· In-depth knowledge of monitoring and evaluation methodologies, data collection techniques, and tools, with the ability to design and implement robust M&E systems.
· Proficiency in quantitative and qualitative data analysis, using software such as Excel, SPSS, or NVivo to derive meaningful insights and inform decision-making.
· Experience in designing research studies and program evaluations, including selecting appropriate methodologies and sampling techniques.
· Strong project management skills to oversee multiple evaluation projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met and deliverables are of high quality.
· Ability to effectively present complex data through data visualization techniques, such as charts, graphs, and dashboards, to communicate findings to diverse audiences.
· Capacity to align M&E efforts with organizational goals and develop strategic plans for monitoring program performance and impact.
· Ability to lead and mentor a team of M&E professionals, fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey M&E findings to internal and external stakeholders and advocate for evidence-based decision-making.
· Experience in engaging with diverse stakeholders, including program staff, donors, partners, and beneficiaries, to gather feedback and ensure accountability.
· Knowledge of ethical considerations related to data collection, storage, and use, ensuring compliance with data protection and privacy regulations.
· Ability to adapt to changing circumstances, address challenges, and remain resilient in a dynamic nonprofit environment.
· Sensitivity to cultural diversity and the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and communities.
