Senior Social Worker

Name of the Position: Social Worker (Female candidates preferred)

Location – Bangalore

Reporting To - Aftercare Head

Key Responsibilities:

1. Management:
2. Based on the objective of the organization, help develop and implement location-specific strategies and tactics.
3. Writing proposals for projects, due diligence of shelter homes and partner organizations, created budgets and maintained budget and trackers for various projects.
4. Trips to Rural areas for different purposes and assignments like tracing the rescued victims and families or accompany them to their home, follow up visits, Social Investigation visits and visits to like-minded organizations for partnerships at the districts.
5. Accompany and go with the MDU team to the police stations and for rescue operations of the victims of trafficking and other forms of abuse.
6. Stay with the victims in the police station overnight (as per the situation)
7. Accompany rescued victims to the hospitals for medico-legal and to the court for recording statements & testimonies.
8. Accompany victims and family members to police stations for any threat complaints.
9. Taking notes and statements of the victims, maintaining the report and sending it to MDU on a timely basis.
10. Maintain detailed reports of Aftercare work and activities with MDU.
11. Maintain communication with the supervisors for Aftercare work update and any challenges.
12. team handling experience is preferable.

2. Fully understand the victim protection and custody law and procedures.
3. Provide direct assistance to victims in cases in which aftercare services are unable or unwilling to provide by the stakeholders.
4. Provide backstop psychosocial counselling to the rescued victims.
5. Ensure that the victim receives full support and protection which is legally mandate. 
6. Monitor the progress of the victims where the services are provided.
7. Monitor the activities and services provided in the government and private shelter homes.
8. Provide training and guidance to the Interns and volunteers on aftercare work.

2. Maintain cordial relationships with the stakeholders and like-minded organization.
3. Follow- ups and visits to the Child Welfare Committee, District Child Protection Officer, Shelter Home Superintendents and Child Welfare Officers.

2. Carry out additional responsibilities and assignments by the Supervisors.
3. Maintain confidentiality of the organizational information.

Eligibility Criteria

Desired Skills & Experience

• Educational qualification in MSW from reputed colleges
• 5 to 8 years of experience as a caseworker working closely with women and children
• Demonstrable experience in stakeholder management and Networking with government bodies and Ngos
• Hands-on experience with Individual care plan for each victim and report making
• Positive attitude and good team-management abilities.
• Excellent communication skills
