Position Project Manager – Solid Waste Management

Reporting to Asst. General Manager

Posting Mamallapuram/Chengalpattu, Tamilnadu

Position Summary

The resource, under supervision of the middle management of Hand in Hand India, shall be responsible for

daily, smooth operations and successful implementation of municipal solid waste management (MSWM)

projects as well as monitoring of all waste management projects, being undertaken by Hand in Hand India.

Qualifications & Experience

Education A bachelor degree with environmental background

Experience levels At least 5 - 8 years working experience in waste management sector

Broad responsibilities

Plan, implement, and delegate all scheduled operations, especially clean-up drives and door-to-door waste collection service.

Monitor daily operations and document all related data, including waste segregation, recycling, disposal; collection service establishments, routes, dues collection, sanitary workers attendance, etc.

Evaluate efficiency, effectiveness, and results of operations and implement changes. Record and report all operations-related income and expenditures.

Plan growth strategies for door-to-door collection and dustbin/signage infrastructure.

Supervise team and assign KRAs

Liaison and partner with similar organizations and government bodies to tackle waste management issues pertaining to our project.

Provide senior staff and head office with operations data and reports.

Search and plan for opportunities to replicate SWM models outside project locations.

General competencies required

Excellent team-building skills with ability to motivate sanitary workers and volunteers.

Capacity to develop and implement strong plans for strategic operational growth and ability to

communicate that effectively to all members of the organization.

Great organizational and staff management skills.

Good knowledge and understanding of information technology.

Good written, presentation, and listening skills.

Ability to work under pressure and take initiative to set targets and achieve goals.

Ability to relate to people at all levels

Type of employment

1 year contract, renewable based upon performance

Depending upon experience and ability of the candidate as per market standards governing Non-profit
