Job Description

Bankura Society of people living with HIV AIDS invites applications from eligible candidates for the respective vacant post which are mentioned below,


Job Title: - Outreach worker

Post: - 02

Location: - Paschim Bardhaman


Key Functions: Outreach worker will lead the field activities of the CSC. They will identify and facilitate registration of PLHIV including those with special needs (children, HRG's) at the CSC. They will support the PLHIV to access health and non-health services through regular follow-up.


Specific roles and responsibilities of Health Promoter


1. Identification of new PLHIV and registering them for CSC.

2.Conduct field visits and participate in the following awareness generation activities:

3. Conduct home visits for the registered PLHIV and affected families to provide treatment education, education on OI, nutrition, healthy lifestyles, and positive living, and psycho social support. Support from peer navigator can be taken for addressing specific issues during home visits.

4. Track LFUs (ART and PRE-ART) and report on the status. Based on the list of LFU and MIS cases received from the ART centre, plan home visits for the defaulters, and motivate them to resume their treatment. Where feasible, accompany them to the services. For entranced defaulters, report the status to PC with evidence.

5. Liaise with and conduct regular visits to respective ART centres assigned by the coordinator.

6. Provide information on home-based care to PLHIV and their family members.

7. Develop weekly and monthly work plans, including details of activities such as home visits, LFU follow-up, advocacy events, visit health facilities, meetings in CSC, and participation in support group meetings.

8.Document outreach activities and other works undertaken in prescribed MIS tools and submit them to PC once a week.


Undertake advocacy by doing the following:


1. Organizing community events with the help of peer Counsellor (e.g., health camps, fairs, festivals).

2. Organizing and participating in advocacy activities, including rapport building with other stakeholders both within the government and in the community.

3. Liaise with Anganwadi worker (AWW) and ASHA for referral of eligible children and pregnant women to access supplementary nutrition.

4. Liaise with community leaders, local clubs, and other social organizations to enhance their involvement in the program.

5. Facilitate filling of forms for social entitlements and schemes and hand them over to the PC.


Required Qualification/experience:

· 10th pass with 1-year relevant experience in HIV/AIDS field

. 2-year experience in field work

Preferred PLHIV
