Job Description

THE OPPORTUNITY:

An exciting opportunity exists for you to join Kshamata, a Thane based non-profit that aims

to Kshamata reintegrates women in vulnerable circumstances back into society- equipping

them with skills for life and livelihood; empowering them to live independently; and

supporting them to build a new life

We seek a dynamic, and fairly experienced fundraiser to support the resource mobilisation

efforts of the organisation, at a pivotal time, when Kshamata is making a leap in terms of

growth, expansion and re-positioning. As the Fundraising Manager, you can play a crucial

role in helping drive this period of change.

THE POSITION:

The Fundraising Manager is primarily responsible for New Donor acquisition and large

grants fundraising from private and public sector companies, HNI's, and grant making

foundations in India and overseas. The Fundraising Manager will establish and put in place a

strong internal FR process to drive fundraising, along with the effective use of prospect

management system and consistent, systematic follow-ups of leads to support fundraising

success.

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

RESEARCH &

IDENTIFICATION OF

PROSPECTS FOR NEW

DONOR ACCQUISITION


? Identify prospective donors, develop and manage a

detailed prospect database and maintain an active

pipeline of prospective donors. Research and identify

various funding opportunities to be pursued by

Kshamata

? Research prospects to assess their 'interest' and

alignment with Kshamata ’s mission & program areas

? Update all interactions with prospects regularly,

review actions with Managing Trustee/ Programs

Director and ensure effective follow ups and

? Working with current and prospective key supporters

and stakeholders to tap new networks


RETAIL FUNDRAISING

(MONTHLY AND ONE

TIME)


? Provide inputs and drive the activities on behalf of

Kshamata - giving campaigns and platforms for

fundraising, such as 'Daan Utsav’, marathons, cause

related events, etc.

? Quarterly and annual retail fundraising strategy

? Organise and anchor a Charity /Fundraising event

(offline)

? Building a supportive community online for Kshamata,

individuals commit to give on a regular basis

? Design and implement communication with individual

donors


DONOR STEWARDSHIP


Development and implementation of a detailed donor

stewardship strategy to recognize, thank and reward donors

to ensure they give time and again.

? Develop a calendar for donor stewardship with

reminders for at least 3 touch points per donor

throughout the year.

? Develop and maintain a strong internal system to build


donor relationships for retention, upscaling of support

and referrals/recommendations to other prospects.

? Support and implement initiatives for donor retention

such as campaigns and events to promote long-term

funding support.


TAPPING VARIOUS

FUNDRAISING

PLATFORMS


? Participate in platforms for networking and fundraising

& subscriptions to databases of companies, HNIs

(when necessary) and fundraising websites

? Explore Cause related Marketing initiative

? Any other activity as directed by the

Trustees/Programs Director

? Support in online applications


SET UP MEETINGS &

FOLLOW UP


? Set up meetings with the senior management team

members (such as HR head, CSR head, Marketing head

and Head of Corporate Affairs) of the potential

corporate organizations & Foundations & Family Trusts

(institutional donors).

? Effective follow up and relationship building with

prospects to drive discussions forward into the

decision to fund and support Kshamata .


REPRESENT KSHAMATA

AT KEY EVENTS


? Represent Kshamata at different corporate forums and

events, CSR seminars and conferences to network with

prospective donors and improve the visibility of the

organization.

Eligibility Criteria

Graduate/postgraduate in Social Work or Business (Sales & Marketing) from a recognised

University


Experience:

? 3-4 years’ experience in a Fundraising role with a recognised Indian or International

NGO.

? Fair understanding and demonstrable experience of the fundraising process and

track record of success in developing relationships with new prospects and

converting them into supporters and achieving fundraising targets.

? Understanding of Large Grants Fundraising context in India/ abroad and prospect

donor target markets, i.e. HNI, CSR, Indian and International grant making

Foundations.

Desired Candidate Profile

Post Graduation - MSW

Qualifications:

Graduate/postgraduate in Social Work or Business (Sales & Marketing) from a recognised

University

Experience:

BEHAVIOURAL SKILLS & COMPETENCIES


? Excellent written, verbal, and telephonic communication skills in English.

? A good track record in writing and winning fundraising proposals and applications.

? Expertise in creating and delivering compelling and persuasive presentations.

? Strong time management skills and adherence to deadlines.

? Highly disciplined and able to work without supervision.

? Proficiency in MS Office – Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

? Ability to multitask and handle a variety of tasks at once.

? Ability to take initiative and drive projects through to completion.

? Excellent networking and interpersonal skills that facilitate strong relationships with

a wide range of people.
