Basic information:
We are looking for highly motivated and experienced individuals who will support data collection for operational research studies under the widely acclaimed JEET 2.0 project. This will be a short-term position of five months.
Roles and responsibilities:
The major responsibilities for the role include (but are not limited to):
Coordinating with the Principal Investigators (PI) of the studies, and State and district project teams for collection of follow-up data (QUANTITATIVE) from HHCs of TB patients who have received TPT through house-to-house visits.
Coordinating with the PIs and state and district teams for collection of QUANTITATIVE AND QUALITATIVE data through interviews from doctors in the government and private sector involved in the TB infection (TBI) care and management in the district through in-person visits.
Coordinating with other project staff under JEET 2.0 at their respective locations to obtain information on and link with a) HHCs who have completed TPT in the district and facilitating data collection, and b) government and private doctors who are involved in TBI care.
Ensuring quality of the data collected
Verifying the data collected
Ensuring timely compliance of the actions allocated by PIs.
Key skills and competencies:
Essential qualification, experience and requirements:
o Graduate of science stream (having biology as one of the subjects till Higher Secondary Certificate education) or social work (MSW).
o At least one year experience of collecting and recording data / field research investigation in one or more public health projects.
o Good communication skills in English and languages of local relevance
o Should understand the importance of data collection for research and recording.
o Must know to drive a two-wheeler and have one with valid driving license.
o Possess following specifications of smartphone to support data collection and audio recording:
• Android version 4.1 or greater
• Support for mobile data and WiFi
• At least 1 GHz processor (higher is better)
• At least 1 GB of RAM
• Audio recording application
• (Recommended) Long lasting battery, at least 2500 mAh
Preferential qualification:
- Sound knowledge of data collection tools, questionnaires, research ethics and principles
- Preference would be given to candidates who have experience of working in public health research, particularly tuberculosis.
- Proficient in basic computer applications such as Word, Excel, and Power Point.
- Worked with mobile data collection tools such as Epicollect, Kobo Tool box, ODK or others.
