Position Overview:
Programme Manager ( Education) is a key role which provides leadership in managing the education programmes, operationalising several key practices and ideas, identifies new partners for collaboration on resource mobilisation and manages a team of professionals and field level resource persons.
Core Roles and Responsibilities: 70%
· Programme Planning and Management: Design and implement programme activities as per the proposal, ensuring effective and optimum usage of resources, teams and in alignment with organisational practices and policies.
· Financial planning: Prepare financial reports, requisitions, and budgets to support the finance team and senior leadership in accurate reporting and taking data driven decisions.
· Monitoring and Evaluation: Plan and lead the M& E activities for programme areas (thematic and field operational areas) . Track and evaluate the impact of partnerships and capacity-building initiatives, providing data-driven insights for continuous improvement.
· Communication and Collaboration: Foster effective communication and collaboration between internal teams and external partners to optimize resource sharing and leverage expertise.
· Partnership Development: Identify and establish strategic partners related to thematic and skill-based trainings. Build networks and connect with alliances to engage with stakeholders such as donors, partners, and community members.
Link Responsibilities: 15%
· Explore proactively capacity building requirement within team members.
· Share and inform leadership on the impact of programme activities, roadblocks and ensure team cohesion.
Systemic Responsibilities: 15%
· Engage in upholding and strengthening the core values of the organisation, foster transparent and open feedback system.
Qualifications and Experience:
? A master’s degree in Social Sciences or related discipline is preferred, with minimum 7-10 years of working experience in non-profits.
? Relevant certifications on facilitation techniques, learning tools, data analytics, research tools and methodologies will be preferred and add on to the profile.
Skills and competencies:
· Demonstrated experience in managing and overseeing programs, projects, or initiatives.
· Ability to develop program strategies, set objectives, and ensure effective implementation and evaluation.
· Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage resources, and meet deadlines.
· Experience in monitoring and evaluating program outcomes, and using data to drive decision-making and improvement.
· Strong networking and relationship-building skills to engage with stakeholders such as donors, partners, and community members.
· Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences, both orally and in writing.
· Experience in cultivating and maintaining positive relationships with funders, government agencies, and other key stakeholders.
