Job Description

Responsibilities:


1. Intervention in Cases of Child Marriage:

- Engage in two types of interventions for child marriage cases: obtaining pledges and making intervention villages "child marriage free."

- Take necessary actions such as obtaining injunction orders, approaching the police for FIR registration, and raising awareness among various stakeholders.


2. Awareness of Ill-Effects and Reporting:

- Educate children about the harms of child marriage, child labor, and abuse.

- Report instances of child marriage promptly to relevant authorities.


3. Strengthening Child Protection Committees:

- Enhance functionality of village-level child protection committees.


Role of the Community Social Worker:


1. Conduct Household Surveys:

- Identify vulnerable families through comprehensive household surveys.


2. Create a Directory:

- Develop a directory of village-level functionaries and schools.


3. Community-Level Discussions:

- Facilitate discussions on child marriage, abuse, and trafficking.


4. Meetings with Stakeholders:

- Arrange meetings with religious leaders, panchayat members, and educators.


5. Facilitate Government Scheme Access:

- Connect vulnerable families with available government welfare schemes.


In Child Marriage Cases:


6. Obtain Pledges:

- Collect pledges to discourage child marriage.


7. Document Pledges:

- Capture photographic or video evidence of pledges made.


8. Non-Compliance Reporting:

- Report child marriages despite intervention efforts.


In Child Trafficking Cases:


1. Identify Child Labor:

- Identify instances of child labor.


2. Facilitate Withdrawal:

- Assist children in leaving exploitative work.


3. Ensure Enrollment:

- Collaborate for children's school enrollment.


4. Monitor Attendance:

- Monitor attendance and engagement in school.


5. Escalation of Non-Compliance:

- Report non-compliance to higher authorities.

- Submit regular reports to the designated authority in Nawada, Bihar.
