1. Introduction:
Sadhana Education Society’s Kapila Khandvala College of Education (SES-KKCE) is seeking proposals from qualified producers and filmmakers to create a set of educational films aimed at addressing behavioral problems faced by adolescents. These films will serve as a valuable resource for parents and caregivers, providing them with insights, knowledge, and practical tips on understanding, addressing, and managing various behavioral issues that adolescents may encounter. Some of the common behavioural problems mentioned by parents are: addiction to gadgets, arguing unnecessarily, temper tantrums, peer pressure, fear of exams, fear of stage or public speaking, bullying, sibling rivalry, difficulty in sharing, low self esteem.
The overall project titled: “Operational support for Roll out of parenting of adolescents program” is being conducted as part of a Programme Cooperation Agreement between Sadhana Education Society's Smt. Kapila Khandvala College of Education (SES-KKCE) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF). This partnership project aims to understand the barriers, perceptions, perspectives of multiple stakeholders on parenting of adolescents; capacity assessment and opportunities in form of existing skills and platforms across multiple flagship programs to roll out the adolescent parenting program; and use human centred design approach to test prototypes and subsequently support any larger scale roll-out of the program. The project is dedicated to empowering parents with the knowledge and skills they need to support the healthy development of adolescents.
2. Task Description:
Project Title: Educational Films on Adolescent Behavioral Problems
Number of Films: 2 to 4
Target Audience: Parents, caregivers, and individuals involved in the upbringing of adolescents
Film Duration: 4 to 8 minutes per film
Content Focus: Each film should focus on a specific adolescent behavioral problem, offering a detailed explanation of its causes, consequences, and practical strategies for intervention and support.
3. Scope of Work:
The selected filmmaker will be responsible for the following:
Film Development based on existing scripts: Scripts have already been developed for 4 problems. If required the filmmaker can conceptualize, script for other areas. Whatever final films are selected based on mutual dialogue, the filmmaker will storyboard each film based on the selected behavioral problem.
Pre-production and Production: Execute high-quality filming, including visuals, interviews, and animations if required. Hire the cast and team as required.
Editing: Edit and post-produce each film, ensuring clarity and coherence in messaging.
Narration/Voiceover: Provide clear and engaging narration or voiceover for each film.
Subtitling: Include accurate subtitling to ensure accessibility.
Music and Sound: Add suitable music and sound effects where applicable.
Final Output: Deliver the films in suitable digital formats for online and offline distribution.
4. Proposal Requirements:
Interested parties should submit a comprehensive proposal that includes the following four things:
(1) Cover Letter: Briefly introduce yourself, your past work, and express your interest in this project. In this cover letter also mention your portfolio - a list of samples of previous work, especially educational or documentary films.
(2) Technical Approach: In one page state your approach to creating engaging and informative educational films. While it may be important to include appropriate behavioural experts in the film to explain behavioural issues, it is also important to include the school teacher or principal as an important part of the film. It is possible that these films, although related to mental health, may be disseminated through the school system.
(3) Budget: Clearly outline your proposed budget, including a breakdown of costs for each film.
(4) Timeline: Present a project timeline, including key milestones and estimated delivery dates.
5. Evaluation Criteria:
Proposals will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
Experience and Expertise: Demonstrated experience in producing educational or documentary films. (10)
Understanding of the Project: Clarity in understanding the objectives and scope of the project. (10)
Technical Competence: Ability to deliver high-quality films, including filming, editing, and post-production. (10)
Approach: Innovative and engaging approach to conveying complex information. (30)
Budget Reasonableness: Cost-effectiveness and transparency in the proposed budget. Please provide cost per film. (30)
Timeliness: Realistic project timeline and delivery schedule. (10)
