We are seeking a highly motivated Poultry Value Chain Manager. This role requires a deep understanding of the poultry industry, as well as the ability to identify and develop sub-products and opportunities within the value chain. The Poultry Value Chain Manager will report to Co-Founders. The position holder shall have deep experience and knowledge of various aspects of livestock/Poultry program commercialization, private sector engagement; Public, private, and producers partnership (PPPP), poultry breeding and value chain development, market linkages, agricultural financing, and market systems development. The position holder will also serve as LetsEndorse brand ambassador for the poultry value chain and represent LetsEndorse in strategic forums to ensure strong brand recognition.
- Value Chain Development: Build and manage the entire poultry value chain, including the procurement, breeding, processing, distribution, and marketing segments. Design and implement strategies to ensure operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness -
- Manage the comprehensive onboarding of poultry business stakeholders and foster strong partnerships with various entities.
- Oversee the establishment of poultry hubs and create market linkages between input suppliers, producers, and off-takers.
- Support the development of robust hub governance systems and promote the establishment of 4Ps arrangements for sector support and improved livelihoods.
- Lead the creation of realistic and commercially viable business plans, driving productivity and income growth through PPPP pilot programs.
- Facilitate access to poultry production technologies, collaborate with cooperatives, and engage in poultry feed processing and marketing feasibility studies. Foster strong triple bottom line partnerships and provide necessary training and strategic visioning for LetsEndorse.
- Market Analysis: Conduct market research to identify opportunities and trends in the poultry industry. Utilize this information to inform business strategies and identify potential sub-products or niches -
- Lead comprehensive market system analysis along the poultry value chain, identifying critical bottlenecks and prospects. Represent LetsEndorse effectively to increase visibility among government, NGOs, private sector, and stakeholders.
- Demonstrate creativity and innovation to spot new business opportunities in the poultry sector. Position LetsEndorse as a thought leader on poultry, livestock, agriculture, and livelihood issues.
- Regularly monitor project performance, prepare and share progress reports, and ensure the digital transfer and internalization of project learnings. Document and disseminate these insights to Co-founders and stakeholders for impact and knowledge sharing.
- Supplier and Partner Relationships: Establish and maintain strong relationships with poultry suppliers, processors, and other stakeholders in the value chain. Negotiate and manage contracts to secure high-quality poultry products -
- Collaborate with MoA and other stakeholders on capacity-building training and periodic reviews in the poultry business. Maintain and expand a diverse program portfolio while ensuring quality training delivery.
- Identify market linkage opportunities, foster collaboration, and create a sense of belongingness among stakeholders. Promote organizational learning and innovation, welcoming new ideas.
- Operations Management : Oversee day-to-day operations of the poultry value chain, ensuring quality control, safety, and compliance with industry regulations.
- Support the shift from subsistence poultry production to market-based operations, focusing on market-driven strategies.
- Facilitate access to poultry technologies, encourage out-grower schemes with private complexes, and explore additional output market opportunities for smallholder poultry producers.
- Planning, Reporting and Cost Management: Efficiently manage project works, budgets, and reporting, ensuring cost control, alignment with project plans, and timely submissions to Co-founders for project progression tracking.
- Sub-Product Development:
- Identify poultry value chain materials for potential sub-products and conduct feasibility research including market demand and production methods.
- Coordinate sub-product production, maintain quality standards, ensure compliance, and implement effective marketing strategies to enhance profitability and sustainability of the poultry value chain.
- Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and manage a team of professionals within the poultry value chain in future, ensuring a high level of competence and performance.
Qualifications and Requirements :
- Minimum 4 years of hands-on poultry value chain experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Animal Science, Business, or related fields (Master's degree is a plus).
- Proven value chain development expertise, from inception to full-scale operations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on seizing value chain opportunities.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and team management abilities.

- Clear understanding of poultry value chain and market system development.
- Experience in delivering extension services to small-scale farmers.

- Proficient in MS Office, email, and internet use.
