Reporting to: Head of Programs

Salary range: 9 to 9.5 lakhs


Functional Summary:

The Nutrition Technical Program Manager takes the lead in developing, planning, designing and providing onsite professional, technical support to nutrition programs/projects of Rise Against Hunger India. The incumbent will work with field teams, partner NGOs and other stakeholders to facilitate program development, implementation, program progress monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of results.

  

Specific Job Functions:

 1.   Program development and planning

·      Conduct situation analysis for the development, design, and management of nutrition related programs/projects. Gather relevant information pertaining to nutrition indicators relevant to plan effective programs/projects.

·      Set annual and three-year program goals, objectives, targets through analysis of nutrition needs based on primary and secondary data. Develop budgets, identify potential donors, and liaise with appropriate institutions and partners to bid for funding.

·      Develop guidelines and tools on nutrition project implementation, including preparation of materials and documentations that outline the processes and systems for timely execution of programs and projects.

·      Prepare required documentation and materials to facilitate monitoring and evaluation of approved nutrition projects.

·      Be responsible to undertake special projects from time to time to study nutritional and health outcomes on the program participants who are receiving Rise Against Hunger India’s food supplements, meal packets or other direct provisions.

 

·      Build a set of project concept notes, proposal pipelines to be submitted to potential donors based on data gathered from the communities where Rise Against Hunger India operates directly.

 

2.   Program management, monitoring, and delivery of results

·      Work closely and collaboratively with field units and partners to resolve operational and implementation issues by offering practical technical solutions, and document lessons learned for future planning and implementation.

·      Conduct monitoring and evaluation exercises and facilitate program reviews to assess programs/projects to identify success stories and documents best practices.

·      Conduct field verification to ensure adherence to the organizational processes, rules, systems, and procedures as well as compliance with donor commitments. With assistance from the Senior Management team and other relevant divisions, make sure unresolved and outstanding issues are addressed effectively.

·      Institutionalize data collection and reporting system to report to the Board, Senior Management, Donors, and External stakeholders on the use of direct assistance (in the form of nutrition-rich food packets) offered to multiple groups including the NGO partners.

3.   Technical and operational support for program implementation

·      Provide ongoing technical support to enhance the knowledge and understanding of the frontline staff, field partners, community members, youth groups and other stakeholders involved in executing nutrition programs in the field.

·      Facilitate workshops, training sessions, field trips, exposure visits and meetings/training with experts, professionals, practitioners for the staff and partners involved in nutrition project implementation.

·      Facilitate linkage and liaison with relevant government departments and authorities responsible for nutrition management at the national, state, district levels. Be the point person to coordinate with relevant departments and authorities.

·      Provide thematic/domain level expertise to develop project planning and management framework and build an organization-wide information management process.

·      Formulate organizational position papers, prepare case studies, develop documentation for wider dissemination of program and project outcomes for internal and external audiences.

 

4.   1.    Opportunity management, donor relationship, knowledge management

·      Actively look out for potential funding opportunities and respond to RFPs/CFPs on nutrition related issues that are relevant to Rise Against Hunger India.

·      Be the focal point for implementation of donor funded projects and ensure timely reporting on all grant funded programs/projects on relevant thematic area.

·      Network with relevant institutions, academics, subject matter experts at national and international level to contribute actively to the process of knowledge management.

·      Provide input and content to the communications team for mailers, newsletters, publications, videos, and other communications materials that are sent to donors, supporters, and general public.

·      Provide interesting stories of success and learning to be published on various digital channels – website and social media accounts – for supporter engagement and to raise resources

Eligibility Criteria

  • Experience in designing projects that demonstrated interconnectedness of determinants of malnutrition at different levels.
  • Experience in conducting independent research studies on nutrition and reporting/publishing the outcomes of the same.
  • Proven track record in proposal writing and raising funds.
  • Strong project formulation and design skills.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of project planning & management tools, technology, software
