Job Description

Information and advocacy Officer:


General Information

• Location: Delhi NCR

• Type of Employment: Contractual, renewable basis project requirements

• No. of Position: 01

• Reporting to: Program Manager

• Timings – 09:00am to 05:00 pm

• Holidays: As per ACT Holiday List

• Salary: INR 15,000 - 20,000 per month. (Inclusive of all taxes)

Educational Qualifications

• MSW /BSW / Post graduate any equivalent degree.. Minimum 2 to 5 years of relevant work experience

• Knowledge of laws and legal matters .

• Experience with people with disabilities

• Strong written and verbal communication and capability to relate and interact with multicultural teams

• Giving close attention to details and demonstrated ability to handle sensitive or confidential information.

• Have an empathetic & compassionate attitude. Sensitive towards the needs of children

Roles and responsibilities:


• Documentation of the petitions filed

• Update MIS for referral services and share data with the project team.

• Facilitate admission of children with disabilities into mainstream MCD schools.

• Networking and advocating with disability based government and non government organizations at state and district level with support from Project Officer

• Monitoring and support to community mobilizers in addressing the problems faced at community level

• Compilation of information on the existing acts, policies, schemes and entitlements and update the directory of existing schemes.

• Facilitate referral services to access different schemes and entitlements for persons with disabilities. Guide the beneficiaries in preparing necessary documentation, submission of the application for a particular service/entitlement, follow up and delivery of the service.

• Formation, training and support to community based advocacy group i.e. MCD group and RTI group as well as ensure timely petitions filed by each group with support from Project Officer.

• Formation and training of disabled people group for various advocacy initiatives. Organizing DPO interface.


Occupational / Physiotherapist :

• BOT / BPT /Bachelors in Developmental Therapy or any equivalent degree. Minimum 2 to 5 years of relevant work experience

• Experience with people with disabilities

• Strong written and verbal communication and capability to relate and interact with multicultural teams

• Giving close attention to details and demonstrated ability to handle sensitive or confidential information.

• Have an empathetic & compassionate attitude. Sensitive towards the needs of children

Roles and Responsibility


• Ensure enrollment of New Beneficiaries in CRRC and disseminate information about rights and entitlements provided by different stakeholders.

• Screening and assessment of sensory & motor development

• Therapeutic intervention for intensive and generalized therapy need.

• Evaluate and provide intervention in collaboration with the children with disabilities, family, care giver, or others.

• Develop, improve, sustain, or restoring skills in activities of daily living (ADL).

• Work for adaptation and modification required for children with disabilities with the help of Technical senior such as adapted CP chair, utensils modification etc. as per the need of the children with disabilities that make them independent in their daily task.

• Provide training to the parents and caregiver of children with disabilities about therapy.

• Documentation & Maintenance of Therapy Record.

• Identification of New Children with Disabilities with the support of community Mobilizers.

• Development of ‘Plan of Action- Treatment Goals’ (Long term and short term) with the help of Technical senior for each beneficiary, assessments and regular follow up.

• Review the plan periodically, evaluate progress and make changes to the plan as per the need.

• Discuss the progress and goals of each children with disabilities with our technical senior . ( Two times in a month)

• Visit beneficiaries’ home with technical senior and community mobilizers for home modification like Standing frame, Bar, Toilet modification.

• Give training to the community volunteers about therapy in home environment.

• Ensure a monthly work plan is in place with the proposed activities for implementation.

• Assist in organizing and conducting different disability events and activities.

• Organise and conduct training and workshop
