Criteria:

- Interested in working with children (especially of marginalized communities) in various library spaces

- Interested in children’s literature

- Graduates (at least) in any discipline

- Candidates with academic background in language and literature, education and development studies will be given preference

- Candidates with work experience with children or in education sector will be given preference

- Candidate must be fluent in the following languages:

English - Speaking, reading, writing

Bengali - Speaking, reading

Hindi - Speaking, reading

- Candidates able to write in Bengali and/ or Hindi will be preferred.

  • About Organization:Ek Tara in partnership with Bhabook Foundation runs a robust library programme at Ek Tara Learning centre (which is also known as the Resource Library), 13 KMCP Schools and 4 schools run by Samaritan Help Mission under the programme Golpo Ghor. A team of 13 Library Educators currently practice library activities with over 1200 children across 10 libraries. The internship will introduce the participants to a children's library as a vibrant active space, diverse quality contemporary children's literature and core library practices. It will offer opportunities to practice at the library as well as build perspective around the why, what and how of core library activities. It will include opportunities to visit different types of libraries, work with children, library educators and mentors. Based on the engagement of the interns during the tenure of the internship, candidates with potential of becoming a Library Educator will be offered an opportunity to work at Ek Tara in the Library Prog
