Associate Program Coordinator:Job Description

Associate Program Coordinator will be assisting the program manager in devising strategies and guiding the team in the implementation process. S/he will be responsible for identify t factors that influence the elderly care & social wellbeing and then guide the team devise strategies to address these issues.Also, ensuring the quality of interventions and data.

Duties and Responsibilities:

A. Ensure efficient implementation of CECP Programme with elderly in community

Support block coordinators in facilitation of programmatic activities on ground. Work in close coordination with field team to devise the strategies and work plan for activity centre, community awareness and community mobilization. Monitor Block Coordinators on daily basis and ensure timely implementation programmatic activities.

B. Community mobilization

Collaborate with relevant local authorities – community, partner organizations, primary health centers and government bodies to gain access to various platforms that can be used to deliver CECP programme in the community. Plan and facilitate the community awareness sessions, special sessions at activity centre with block coordinators. Ensure timely recruitment of village volunteers. Support Cluster Coordinators in building the capacity of village volunteers.

C. Networking and Advocacy

The incumbent will ensure appropriate communication with external stakeholders including guests / district health system / district administration. Identify local level partners, support and facilitate the partnership in the implementation of planned activities.

D. Documentation and Reporting

Assist the program manager in preparation of periodic reports, SOPs, guidelines and research study. To collect data and prepare the case studies and story of change from community in routine basis especially on digital media platforms.

A. Data Management

Supportive supervision of the data manager and ensure the timely and regular data collection from field team to capture the indicators; ensure overall quality of programmatic data. Routine data analysis and interpretation for different report and documentation purpose.

B. Organizational Responsibilities

Ensure integration of programmes being conducted ensuring enhanced quality of life for elderly communities. Ensure unbiased reviews and feedbacks to monitoring mechanisms and ensure adherence to the same. Facilitate meetings and workshops between stakeholders and ensure timely adherence of targets.

Key Deliverables:

1. The person will require working in coordination with the program manager to operationalize CECP in Chandrapur

2. To coordinate and work closely with the block coordinators and program manager in micro planning of the programmatic activities.

3. To mentor and supervise the team in carrying out the planned activities.

4. To prepare and conduct IEC activities, training sessions and special activities related to program at block and village level.

5. Devise strategies with the team to address the other issues pertaining to the elderly e.g. social and economic issues, enrolment in the pension schemes etc.

6. Preparation of work plans, implementation of planned activities and monitoring/ reporting of progress

7. Identify local level partners, support and facilitate the partnership in the implementation of planned activities

8. Person will be required to interact regularly with the Block and District level health department and concern person to support the elderly care programme on time.

9. Person will have to work closely with the block coordinators regarding challenges in work and collect their feedback regarding health services received and plan the PRA/FGD sessions in the community.

10. Support the collection and documentation of impact and success stories on monthly, semi-annual and annually

11. Ensure that the data collected for the indicators that measure the progress of the program are properly collected and collated with proper data quality check

12. Handhold and guide the data manager in maintaining the data related to all the programmatic activities

13. Person will be required to coordinate with the Doctors, nurses, physiotherapist, counsellors, community health workers for OPD services, physiotherapy, counselling, home based services etc.

14. Person will be required to coordinate with the district and block level officials for capturing data related to the services provided to the elderly persons.

15. Person will be required to come out with innovative ways to provide health services to the elderly.

16. Identify other partners, support and facilitate the partnership in the implementation of planned activities at block and village level. Coordinate with relevant stakeholders or authorities

17. Person will be required to interact regularly with the Block and District level stakeholders to support the elderly care programme on time.

• About Organization:Brief of the Project The Comprehensive Elderly Care Program is aim to build a comprehensive model that addresses the health, social, psycho-social and economic needs of the elderly in the community. This program comprise of two major interventions viz, health and social. Health intervention supports better accessibility of health services for elderly while social intervention supports the constant engagement of elderly through activity centers ‘Mayechi Sawali’ at village level. The Azim Premji Foundation and its partner organisation Janseva Gramin Vikas va Shikshan Pratishthan jointly implementing this program in five blocks of Chandrapur district of Maharashtra namely Ballarpur, Bhadravati, Chandrapur, Mul and Sawali.
