Job Description

Katalyst seeks to recruit a dynamic individual as Placement Manager, who will assume the role of creating placement opportunities for its beneficiaries, young women completing STEM degree (especially Engineering). He/She will be responsible for needs assessment, corporate outreach, the placement process plan and Monitoring & Evaluation. He/She will collaborate with Katalyst Centre teams and Fundraising team to generate and fulfil the requirements for Internships and Placements year on year.

Responsibilities:

The Key Responsibilities involved are;

  • Develop the Internal process and policies for Internship and Placement including any undertaking required from students.
  • Corporate outreach through Talent Acquisition and DEI to create visibility about Katalyst as well as Alkemist program for women in early careers
  • Generate opportunities through various sources.
  • Should have an understanding of various job roles, domains and relevant skillsets
  • Use LinkedIn to publish Katalyst Program and Students’ information to attract Employers and identify opportunities.
  • Communicate with Employers (Talent Acquisition teams) for Internship/Placement Opportunities
  • Identify the number and types of positions needed by different Corporates and secure opportunities with employers
  • Coordinate placement activities during the Hiring Period
  • Provide advice and guidance to centre teams to support students with the application process for the Internship/Placement Opportunities
  • Assist with maintaining employer database(s). Maintain student files as needed.
  • Get feedback from employers and students to enhance the process and identify skill gaps and communicate the same to the Curriculum and centre teams
  • Maintain up to date and accurate Katalyst placement tracker throughout the year which will be used to present an overall picture of the service level, success of placement and progress by Katalyst Students.
  • Develop rapport with with College TPOs. Exchange information and remove conflict for a win-win solution
  • Maintain comparative college placement data vis a vis Katalyst Campus drive
  • Provide vital data for Senior Management. Submit monthly report (MIS)

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate should at least be a Graduate in any discipline and preferably from Bangalore

  • Minimum 4-5 years of experience required preferably as Training & Placement Officer
  • Have knowledge of Engineering jobs and skill requirements
  • Good at research and gathering information about job fairs and all relevant recruitment advertisements, sourcing portals/social media etc.
  • Computer skills, including internet navigation, understanding of social media –LinkedIn and various MS office applications with strong MS Excel and PPT skills.
  • Should be active on social networking sites like Facebook, LinkedIn, e-groups, twitter etc.
  • Good communication skills
  • Willing to work on weekends (would get compensatory weekly off)
  • Should have the ability to work independently and be a self-starter.
  • The person should be matured to take ownership of the programmatic activities, outreach and at the same time have empathy for the social sector
