Job Description

SCOPE in collaboration with Fontilles has been promoting health projects and fighting diseases related to poverty in Chilakalapalli. SCOPE looks for a Coordinator and Expert Consultants in Sanitation, drainage systems and water management. The project is implemented with community participation and adequate exposure to PRA techniques will be appreciated.

The proposed project would address the following needs:

1. Availability of safe drinking water: A drinking water plant will be installed using a Reverse Osmosis system to purify the water. All villagers and school children in the village will be provided with drinking water.

2. Sewer management system

3. Stop open defecation by having user-acceptable sanitary latrines

4. Proper drainage

5. Keeping the village lake clean: The village lake is currently used for washing clothes, bathing and, seasonally, for irrigation. However, it is contaminated by human waste due to open defecation. The control of the entry of surface water, the stopping of open defecation, the desilting and the protection of the banks are foreseen.

Period of engagement: 3 to 9 months

Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications
