1. Position: Project Coordinator/ Block Coordinator/Agriculture/Horticulture Specialist

Number of positions: 03

Reporting: Secretary

Location: Titilagarh

Job Type: Contractual

Salary: Based on qualification and experience and commensurate to the best in the sector

Educational Qualification: MBA/M.Sc/B.Sc (Agriculture), MSW

Experience:

• At least 3 years of field experience in implementing livelihood (agriculture) development projects with Special emphasis on vegetable cultivation, good training and capacity building skill for agriculture extension, good articulation skills, hardworking & self-motivated. Experience of working with and managing community institutions, FPC etc, will be of added advantage.

• Good Project management skills

• Excellent reporting and documentation skills – both English and Odia


The Role:

The Project Coordinator will be responsible for developing and delivering the sustainable agricultural practices within the communities we serve. Your expertise will be crucial in implementing and scaling up initiatives related to improved agriculture, water-efficient cropping, and the establishment of model crop demonstrations. The position requires extensive field visits (18-20 days/month) to monitor and support the field activities with the involvement of the team members and provide necessary support in execution of the project activities.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Baseline Survey:

• Conduct Baseline Survey of respective villages and compilation of data

• Collection of data of farmers, villages and keep their profile


2. Agricultural Practices:

• Provide technical leadership in promoting improved and sustainable agricultural practices.

• Introduce and scale up less water-intensive cropping techniques in collaboration with local farmers.

• Implement strategies to enhance crop yield, quality, and overall farm productivity.

• Organizing farmers meeting and Mobilizing them for non-paddy and allied cultivation

• Organizing training and capacity building of farmers as and when require

• Collection, Preparation and maintain tracking sheet of farmers on regular basis

• Formation of farmers group and farmers club and ensure regular meetings with them

• Provide technical support and guidance to the farmers in farm management, crop calendar, POP, etc


3. Scaling up Integrated Agriculture Practices (IAP):

• Develop and implement strategies to scale up Integrated Agriculture Practices for comprehensive and sustainable farming.

• Collaborate with project teams to ensure the effective integration of IAP into community farming systems.


4. Model Crop Demonstrations:

• Establish and manage Model Demonstration Farms showcasing best agricultural practices.

• Conduct regular field visits and training sessions for farmers based on the successful models.

5. Best Practice Scaling:

• Identify and scale up best agricultural practices specific to the region.

• Collaborate with local agricultural communities to implement and monitor the adoption of these practices

6. Team Management:

• Manage the project implementation team, providing leadership support and fostering a collaborative work environment.

7. Coordination and Reporting:

• Ensure monthly coordination and reporting with the Project Manager and Executive Coordinator.

• Prepare timely and quality monthly plans, progress reports, and utilization reports.

• Ensure and Prepare case studies/success stories regularly


8. FPOs/SHGs Coordination and Capacity building

• Nursery bed preparation, crop cutting, marketing through FPOs


9. Liaising with government and donor agencies


• Liaising with district and block administration and line departments like horticulture, agriculture, veterinary, NABARD,

• Leading Watershed Development works of NABARD


10. Policy Adherence:

• Follow the organization's HR policy, Finance Manual, and Gender Policy in your working area and project implementation.
