Job Description:
The Zonal Coordinator is a key position responsible for the strategic management and oversight within the designated zone. This multifaceted position encompasses the establishment of programs focused on fostering self-esteem initiative in Uttar Pradesh among children of UPS. Additionally, the role involves ensuring compliance with district education department and upper primary schools of assigned districts, aligning with the Beneficiary Participation Plan and Strategy (BPPS) requirements. The Zonal Coordinator is instrumental in monitoring the overall operations of designated programs and facilitating accurate, timely reporting.
Roles & Responsibilities
Manage and oversee the entire implementation of the project in the respective geography.
Responsible for ensuring that the self-esteem activities adhere to the project requirements.
Conduct regular observation visits to the schools and collect data from the children and report the same.
Attend the SMC meetings wherever required and maintain the attendance of the participants and parents.
Accountable for monitoring the overall working of the project that falls under its purview.
S/he shall be liable for accurate and timely reporting of the aforementioned work ascribed to the state team.
Support DRGs and MTs in training district/block level and coordinate for SMC meetings and Social Action Project.
Responsible for knowledge transfer to DRGs/MTs and designated teacher.
Support the State Lead for ensuring smooth functioning of the governance and management of the project
Periodic reporting to State Lead about the progress of the project.
Represent the project in various forums within the districts/state.
Compile, analyze and present zonal level data for reporting of program progress.
Capture and report on program challenges, major decisions, lessons learned and best practices gathered from monthly meetings.
Provide the monthly and quarterly summary data as part of the monthly and quarterly report to the State Lead.
Systematically ensure the timely and quality reporting in the operational area.
Work closely with District Resource Person, Master Trainers and MIS officers to provide the necessary support to the State Lead in the planning and management of project implementation.
Strengthen the functioning of the Self Esteem Project at the Peripheral schools by providing monitoring and feedback on monthly meetings and reports.
Coordinate with the State Team to report on barriers to implementation in the field and provide inputs to problem solving.
Participate in and report on monthly coordination meetings.
Actively seek to understand the main interventions being promoted by other development actors in the assigned operational area.
Establish strong working relationships with the district education department and other stakeholders.
Participate in District level meetings technical working groups and general meetings
Skills (Special Training or Competence):
Excellent with People Management and stakeholder liaising.
Communications: Excellent communication skills in Hindi (both oral and written) and English (at-least Written) and one of the local languages from the geography assigned.
Ability to work with minimum supervision.
Open to spending at least 15 days every month in the 4 zones, also if required conduct occasional visits to the other zones.
Qualifications and Skills:
Masters in Social work or any other discipline with relevant work experience of 2-3 years- promoting and strengthening education based or community centric projects. Relevant work experience in Uttar Pradesh and knowledge of local language will have added advantage.
Strong organizational and managerial skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to ensure compliance with established standards and guidelines.
Proficiency in reporting tools and techniques.
*Possession of a laptop is mandatory for this position
