Job Summary:
The Program Officer will play a pivotal role in the successful implementation of development projects by managing clients, conducting field visits, overseeing documentation, and leading the proposal and reports writing process. This role requires a strong focus on impact assessment, financial management, and effective coordination with internal teams and external partners. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and writing skills, coupled with a deep commitment to the principles of development professional.
Responsibilities:
Client Management- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and ensuring effective communication.
Field Visits- Conduct regular field visits to project sites, assessing progress, identifying challenges, and providing on-the-ground support.
Documentation- Oversee and manage project documentation, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to organizational standards.
Proposal & Reports Writing- Prepare compelling project proposals and detailed reports, showcasing impact, achievements, and lessons learned.
Impact Assessment- Develop and implement robust impact assessment methodologies to measure the effectiveness and sustainability of projects.
Financial Management- Assist in budget development and financial planning for projects. Monitor project expenditures, ensuring compliance with approved budgets.
Collaborate with finance teams to prepare financial reports for donors and stakeholders.
Project Coordination- Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless execution of projects.
Monitoring and Evaluation- Implement monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to track project outcomes and impact.
Capacity Building- Provide training and support to project staff and partners for effective program implementation.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's/Master's degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field.
Proven experience in program management within the development sector, with a focus on financial management.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong writing skills for proposals, reports, and financial documentation.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
